Can you imagine Top Gun without Tom Cruise? Well, that was almost the case, according to Jerry Bruckheimer. The legendary producer told Extra’s Jenn Lahmers that the actor turned that role several times.
So how did Bruckheimer eventually get him to do it? He got the Blue Angels to take Cruise up with them, and the rest is cinematic history.
That is the cool story from the skies; want to hear the ugly one? Bruckheimer also revealed which actors vomited during their scenes up there. The answer is all of them, but Cruise. Even Kelly McGillis did it. She didn’t, but I am sure she thought about it because all of those actors most likely reeked of it.
Now that you know more than you wanted to know about Top Gun, you can go see it in theaters again for its 35th anniversary.
Back to Cruise, if he had turned down Top Gun, the movie that launched his career to superstardom, we probably would be talking about the actor who replaced him. You know, like Michael J. Fox, who replaced that other actor in Back to the Future. Can you name who the original Marty McFly was? Hint, he wore a Mask.
Jerry O’Connell is one of the nicest guys in Hollywood, and I have never seen him get mad about anything. That is until now because he went all Tom Cruise.
Not as in jumping on a couch because he gets to have sex with Rebecca Romijn whenever she wants. Instead, it was like the one that Cruise had on the set of Mission Impossible 7 when several crew members didn’t follow COVID-19 guidelines.
I don’t know what Jerry was ranting and raving about, but I do know I can’t stop laughing. It gets funnier and funnier the longer it goes on.
Even O’Connell’s Jerry Maguire co-star would show him the money because it is so hilarious.
Now that the My Secret Identity star has all of this time on his hands, I think he should start a podcast whose character is based on this identity. You know, getting angry and taking it out on whatever or whoever he wants. What or who do you think he should slide on to next?
Hollywood is slowly getting back to work during the coronavirus pandemic, but there are a lot of protocols that everyone on the set must follow. If they don’t follow them, then the production gets shut down.
Well, Tom Cruise doesn’t want to get shut down because he is thinking of all of the people who are working in the business and their families. Therefore, when he saw some crew members on Mission Impossible VII breaking the rules, he let them have it according to audio obtained by The Sun.
“They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us…We are creating thousands of jobs, you motherf***ers,” Cruise screamed. “That’s it. No apologies. You can tell it to the people that are losing their f***ing homes because our industry is shut down…We are not shutting this f***ing movie down. Is it understood? If I see it again, you’re f***ing gone.”
He is 100% right to yell at all of those people. Why should everyone who is working their a$$ following the rules be penalized because some covidiots are not taking the virus seriously? There are people working on these productions, who are pregnant, have cancer, or are at high risk, and they cannot get COVID-19.
People need to stop being so selfish. Personally, I think Cruise should have fired them on the spot. Now that this audio leaked, SAG or one of the other unions will do an investigation, and they will be shut down. Exactly what he was trying to avoid.
It really pisses me off when I see pictures or videos from the set, and the cast and crew are acting as they did in 2019. I miss hugs. I miss physical interaction. However, we are not going to get that back if people just don’t follow the rules.
People waste more time coming up with lame excuses than it takes just to grin and bear it. If you can’t do it, and it is a requirement, then there are a lot of people who would be willing to take your job and do what they are told.
I am a ruler breaker, but these are rules I will not break. It is not just about me. It is about everyone I come in contact with. I would hate to be the person who gave COVID-19 to someone who died from it. Do you want to live with that guilt? If you do, then I feel sorry for you, and I am glad I am not you.
Crashing into a building and shattering his ankle is not enough to stop Tom Cruise from doing his own death-defying stunts. The 58-year-old actor is in Norway filming Mission Impossible 7, and he did one of his riskiest stunts to date.
He rode his motorcycle off of a ramp on a mountain and then parachuted down to the ground safely.
Thankfully, for the movie’s insurance company, he is OK. However, if he keeps doing stunts like that, this might be his last movie and his three kids will be very rich.
Seriously, I nearly pooped in my pants watching that. What about you?
Top Gun: Maverick was supposed to come out on June 24th, but that is no longer the plan. Tom Cruise revealed today when the anticipated sequel will hopefully be coming out.
He wrote, “I know many of you have waited 34 years. Unfortunately, it will be a little longer. Top Gun: Maverick will fly this December. Stay safe, everyone.”
Mark December 24th down on your calendars because you are not going to want to miss this movie. Well, I do because it looks like too much of a dick flick for me. However, others cannot wait to see it.
