The Simpsons just won’t die
March 3rd, 2021 under The Simpsons. [ Comments: 1 ]

Fox announced today that they picked up The Simpsons for a 33rd and 34th season. That means the show will be creating new episodes until at least 2023. By the end of that season, they will have aired 757 original episodes.

At this rate, no primetime scripted show will be able to catch up. Even scarier, we are getting to the point that the animated show is going to outlive the people who write it and more importantly the people behind the voices.

I mean, if you think about it, most of the people who watch it, were not even born when it debuted in 1989.

Hey Homer Simpson, how long has your show been on the air? “Woo Hoo! With any luck the show will soon be older than I am,” he said. How old is he? We will find out when the show catches up to him. Something, I am sure it will do. I am sure it will even be as old as Grandpa Simpson some day. We will all be watching it from our nursing home rooms just like A does every Sunday.

Fox’s Animation Domination is coming back on September 27th!
July 22nd, 2020 under Fox, Seth MacFarlane, The Simpsons. [ Comments: none ]

Even though almost all of the television production has been shut down since March, animation hasn’t stopped working. That is good news for the fans of Fox’s Animation Domination. On September 27th, The Simpsons, Bless the Harts, Bob’s Burgers, and Family Guy will all be back with new episodes.

Any other year, this would be who cares news. However, this year I am doing backflips in excitement. Unlike in the cartoons, it really hurts when you bang into the wall. Ouch. At least, I will be able to laugh again in September when the four shows are back. Hopefully, by then, I will be healed from those backflips I just did.

Can’t wait until September for new episodes, all four sitcoms and Duncanville will all be doing panels at San Diego’s Comic-Con@Home this weekend. Don’t do a backflip.

The Simpsons have been on our air for so long that the show has broken several television records. It is the longest-running scripted program ever to grace our televisions. They beat out Gunsmoke’s record of 634 episodes. A milestone that no one ever thought would be toppled.

However, not only did they break it, they are still going strong. Today, Al Jean, who is an executive producer on the animated series, announced that they are doing a table read for their 700th episode today.

Congrats to our favorite television family. Today, I will sit on my couch in honor of you.

In case you are wondering why The Simpsons is filming new episodes now during the coronavirus pandemic while live-action shows have no start day. For the most part, animated television has been largerly unaffected by it because the voice actors can work from home.

This Sunday at 8p on Fox, The Simpsons’ theme song is going to sound a little bit different. That is because Weezer is going to perform it.

Not only that, but they are also going to play a Weezer cover band called Sailor’s Delight on the episode. Sailor’s Delight is going to perform songs from the band’s Black Album and debut a new tune from their upcoming CD Van Weezer.

I hope that record is also the Yellow Album in honor of them getting Simpsonfied.

Is Yeardley Smith really 55?
May 4th, 2020 under Are they really their age?, The Simpsons. [ Comments: none ]

Yeardley Smith has been voicing Lisa Simpson for over 30 years. Just like her character, she never ages.

The actress wore a white pillow, that is a lot of like her character’s red dress, and she doesn’t look her age. Can you believe that she is 55? She looks the same as she did when she started on the Fox animated sitcom in the late ’80s. However, she does look older than she did when she was in The Legend of Billie Jean. If you have never seen that movie, you need to watch it ASAP.

Back to Smith, doesn’t she look fantastic?
