The Middle is finally back on ABC tonight at 8p and there are more changes besides its new night. Sue Heck (Eden Sher) is back from her summer working at Dollywood and she is a different woman. Brick (Atticus Shaffer) is starting high school and he is trying to be a new man. Axl (Charlie McDermott) on the other has a new girl in his life and no one likes her.
The one thing that hasn’t changes is how funny this show is.

Then at 8:30p, American Housewife debuts and she fits in perfectly on Tuesday nights. Katie (Katy Mixon) is a married housewife with three kids renting in the ritzy Westport, Ct. The women are all skinny and perfect and Katie is not. Now that the second fattest woman is moving to Vermont, she will be the second fattest woman in Westport. Something she will do hardest to stop from happening. She will recruit her supportive husband (Diedrich Bader) to help her on the mission and her young daughter Anna-Kat (Julia Butters) that has fitting in issues. Her older daughter Taylor (Meg Donnelly) blossomed over the summer and now Katie is afraid she will turn into one of them. Her son Harrison (Daniel DiMaggio) already has. She has her hands full with them, but some how she makes it work. And this show doesn’t have to work on the humor because it comes naturally

Then at 9p, Fresh Off The Boat is heading to Taiwan for Louis (Randall Park) brother’s (Ken Jeong) wedding. For Louis and Jessica (Constance Wu) it is going home and for their kids it is experiencing the place they come from. Eddie (Hudson Yang) doesn’t want to be there, he just wants to be with his girlfriend. He told her he would fax her every day, but he can’t seem to find one. When he finally returns home, she tells him it’s over.
Tonight’s episode is beyond special because it is the first scripted show to go to Taiwan. Therefore, it is cool to see the country through their eyes.
Then at 9:30p, The Real O’Neals are back and they want to let you know it is Gay friendly after Noah Galvin’s controversial interview. Therefore they start it out with a Gay Pride parade and him calling up Lance Bass who calls Jane Lynch who calls Tyler Oakley who calls RuPual. If that is not enough, then his character starting an LGBT group should do it for you.
But not for me. I am like an elephant and don’t forget.

Finally at 10p but over on NBC, Chicago Fire is back and it is just as hot as ever. Now that Dawson is a mom (Monica Raymund) firefighting isn’t the same for her. She has some decisions to make. A decision that might come easier when Jimmy (Steven R. McQueen) tells off the Chief (Eamonn Walker). It isn’t all serious, someone has been writing fan faction about the firehouse and they have to figure out who is doing. All this leads to the shocking final seconds that will change someone’s life forever.
Patricia Heaton is on vacation in England, so she didn’t feel the need to put on any makeup. You know what, even though she is 58, she doesn’t look anywhere near her age. She appears to be the middle of that.
Doesn’t she look as young as when she started out on Everybody Loves Raymond back in 1996. Wow, it’s been almost 20 years years since that show debuted.
We are used to seeing Eden Sher every Wednesday night on The Middle as the mousy Sue Heck, but yesterday she looked nothing like her character as she made her way to the Critics Choice Awards. She looked like a classic Hollywood beauty about to wow everyone as she walked the red carpet. Actually, that is exactly what she did.
Forget the year of Sue Heck, this the year of Eden Sher!

The day Sue Heck (Eden Sher) has been waiting for is finally here tonight at 8p on The Middle. She is going to college and she wants all The Hecks to join her. Axl (Charlie McDermott) doesn’t want to go, but Sue insists and wins.
Meanwhile her dad (Neil Flynn) is prepping her for life on her own and he is driving her crazy. Not as crazy as when the curling iron her mom bought at a garage sale burns off a chunk of her hair. Her mom (Patricia Heaton) tries to help her out but will it work? So will the moment that Sue has been waiting for all of her life go off without a hitch or will it be completely ruined?
Then there’s Brick (Atticus Schaffer) whose girlfriend wants to take things to the next level. What that means? It’s Brick, so who knows?
My favorite thing about this episode and the show is the character that they have created for Mike Heck. His father/child talks are the best on television and he has some sweet moments with Sue on tonight’s episode.
It’s Mother’s Day on The Middle tonight at 8p on ABC, and will the Hecks finally get it right for Frankie (Patricia Heaton)?
All she wants is to have a nice afternoon tea with her mother (Marsha Mason) and her family on Mother’s Day, so she asks Mike (Neil Flynn) to make a reservation. Sounds easier said than done for him. Can he actually do it?
Not only does she want to have a nice calm lunch with her family, she also wants her kids to finally get her something nice. Axl (Charlie McDermott), Sue (Eden Sher) and Brick (Atticus Shaffer) try to get her the right present, but everything they buy turns out to be wrong. Will they find her the perfect gift in time?
Will Frankie finally have the Mother’s Day she’s been dreaming of or will it be the worst one yet? You have to tune in for another sweet, sentimental and funny episode to find out.
The Middle nails what Mother’s Day is truly like, so watch it tonight so you can make this Sunday even more special for your mom. You don’t want to cause another bad Mother’s Day for your mom, do you? Get inspired tonight to make it better.
