Nexstar didn’t order additional episodes from The Winchesters and Walker: Independence
November 1st, 2022 under Supernatural, The CW. [ Comments: none ]

It has almost been a month since Nexstar acquired The CW, and I already hate them. , First, they cancelled Nancy Drew. Then, they did the same to DC’s Stargirl. Today, they opted not to order any additional episodes from their two new dramas, The Winchesters and Walker: Independence. Meaning that both series are only getting a 13-episode first season.

While that sounds grimmer than the demons The Winchesters go after, Deadline says that both shows could get a second season.

If Nexstar cancels all of The CW shows at the end of the season, they will get cancelled themselves. When The WB and UPN merged to give us The CW, they kept a few shows like Supernatural. If Nexstar doesn’t do the same, then they will lose all the viewers they had.

And if they cancel the Supernatural spinoff, I hope Netflix or HBO Max saves it. It is too good to only last 13 episodes.

Nexstar cancels another The CW show
October 31st, 2022 under The CW. [ Comments: none ]

Earlier this month, Nexstar acquired The CW, and they are already canceling shows. Last week, they announced that this season of Nancy Drew will be its last. Today, we found out that DC’s Stargirl will be ending in December, according to Deadline.

So what shows from the network we love are left to learn their fate? They are All American, All American: Homecoming, Walker, Walker: Independence, Superman & Lois, Kung Fu, and The Winchesters. I have a feeling that Walker and The Winchesters will survive because they are going to want to stay in business with the Supernatural brothers, aka Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles.

Jewel Staite will not do this Cameo
October 28th, 2022 under The CW. [ Comments: none ]

Jewel Staite is on Cameo, and she is more than willing to grant her fans’ requests. However, the Family Law star does have her limits.

The actress has a message for one of them, “To the guy who keeps ordering cameo videos asking me to show my feet: I ain’t that broke.” I don’t blame her for saying no to that ask on the personalized video site.

This makes you wonder what other strange requests they get. Or maybe we don’t want to know?

True story, right after I saw Staite’s tweet, my friend called me to tell me she joined Cameo. I still haven’t told my friend about what happened to Staite. I will let her enjoy the peacefulness while she can.

Nancy Drew will solve her last case this season
October 26th, 2022 under The CW. [ Comments: none ]

The CW was recently sold to Nexstar, and that means we will be saying goodbye to a lot of their shows. We know that Riverdale and The Flash are ending with their upcoming seasons. And today, we found out that Nancy Drew will be joining them in The CW graveyard, which is demon-free thanks to The Winchesters. That show better be back next season on whatever the new owners call the channel.

Back to Nancy Drew. “Our hearts are full of gratitude, knowing that we are able to bring this chapter to a close with intentionality, inclusivity and kindness — and of course with plenty of sleuthing twists, supernatural scares and star-crossed romance along the way,” showrunners Noga Landau and Melinda Hsu Taylor said. “We are especially indebted to our wonderful fan community, whose connection with our themes and stories has meant the world to us. Season 4 will be a worthy and resonant payoff for their continued love and support.”

The show is currently filming its last few episodes in Vancouver, and the writers promise, “Don’t worry, #DrewCrew. We’re going out with a bang. Buckle in for a heck of a ride!”

The final season will air sometime next year.

The verdict is in, you are going to love Family Law
October 2nd, 2022 under The CW. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 8 on The CW, get to know Family Law. It is a show about a dysfunctional family who works in family law.

Abigail (Jewel Staite) has a little bit of a problem. She drinks too much. So when she throws up in court during a case, she loses her family and her job. The only law firm that will hire her is her father’s (Victor Garber) firm which does family law. Something that Abigail is not familiar with. Therefore, she has her work cut out for her.

Not only in the legal sense but also working with her half-siblings, Daniel (Zach Smadu) and Lucy (Genelle Williams), who she doesn’t know. Their family needs an intervention, but they are too busy with all of their clients.

In an upcoming episode, they will try to help a couple with Down’s Syndrome keep their baby. This episode has more heart than any legal drama I have seen in ages.

So I am hooked, and I have a feeling you will love this series as much as I do. It is the perfect part legal and family drama. But the best part of the show is how enjoyable it is. Check it out, and I am sure you will feel the same way I do.
