If “The Devil Wears Prada” were a reality show, it would be “Stylista.” Eleven aspiring fashion enthusiasts vie for a much-coveted editorial job with Elle magazine. They work as assistants to Elle’s Fashion News Director, Anne Slowey, a demanding but well-respected fashion icon. The competitors carry out an assistant task and a fashion editorial assignment in each episode.
Each week, in consultation with Elle’s Creative Director, Joe Zee, Anne fires one person, until the last assistant standing gets “promoted” to the coveted real-life job opportunity. The grand prize includes a paid editorial position at Elle magazine, a paid lease on a great apartment in Manhattan, and a clothing allowance at H&M, all for one year, valued at $100,000.
Stylista is premiering on The CW tonight at 9p and it’s the must-have fall fashion accessory! I love Stylista! It is catty and competitive and the Judges tell it like it is really is.
The first competition has the 11 competing to get the perfect breakfast for Anne Slowey. And of course before they got their mission they all said that they did not want to get her coffee. Welcome to the real world. As the show goes on they are tested on their knowledge of fashion and also creating a page for Elle Magazine.
When they aren’t on assignment, they are home in the apartment and let’s just say not everyone gets along. When you are in your early 20’s vying for your dream job that pays $100,000 it is not about getting along. And believe me the claws come out when they are introduced and they just keep getting sharper as the show goes on. I am waiting for the day when Megan and Kate really go at it because you know they will. I mean you know the show is going to be good when someone is taken the hospital in the second episode. It took DWTS a few seasons before they sent someone to the hospital.
People have been saying that Anne Slowey and Joe Zee come off as bitchy on the show and I think that is such BS! That is how it really is in the business and if you can’t handle it…get out. But as tough as they seem, they are really nice to Danielle and don’t make an issue about her weight and that is something I really respect.
What these 11 assistant-wannabes are vying for is real and the show treats it as that. It doesn’t feel fake like the show beforehand, America’s Next Top Model. I am not into fashion, but I am so loving this show! So tune in to Stylista tonight and every Wednesday at 9p for a reality competition show that is real.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that The CW has ordered two more scripts from their underdog of a show Privileged. Privileged is the best new show you are not watching, so why not start tonight at 9p on The CW! Help turn those script orders into actually episodes!
Shannen Doherty has agreed to reprise her role as Brenda Walsh on The CW’s 90210 for at least two more more episodes according to Newsday!!! It was a no-brainer decision for her because once again she is relevant and without the show she goes back to just collecting residuals from the original show and no one caring if she goes out to a club or not. Plus I am sure she is loving the attention as much as we love having her back on 90210!
BTW both the 90210 and Privileged pilots are airing tonight on The CW starting at 8p, so if you haven’t seen the shows before now is the perfect time to start! And Privileged is the little show you are missing out on enjoying!!!
Sam and Dean go back in time tonight on Supernatural on the CW at 9p to a time before they were born and their mom was still alive. Seriously how much do you love Dean’s comment at the end of clip one. Talking about loves on Supernatural, how much do you love the addition of the Misha Collins as Castiel the Angel on the show!!! I want more of him!!!

Smallville is back tonight at 8p on The CW with a few less cast members, but they also added a few more like the Green Hornet!!! After watching the season premiere episode, you can tell this show is going in a whole different direction and I am excited to see the changes, that and Justin Hartley is now on the show fulltime!
Tonight show’s picks up a month after last season. Clark and Lex are missing and Chloe was taken away. Both Clark and Chloe are found, but as we know Lex and ex-wife Lana are still gone. The other return in tonight’s show is The Justice League and I want more of them but the Green Hornet will satisfy.
Coming this season Clark will grow more in to the Superman we know and I hear we will also see Tom Welling’s sense of humor added to the show.
