Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is going to the puppets!
July 27th, 2025 under Sesame Street/Muppets, Star Trek. [ Comments: 1 ]

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is not afraid to go to strange new worlds. They have already done a musical episode and a crossover with the animated Star Trek: Lower Decks. In season 4, they are going to become dummies, as in puppets.

And I am here for it! Granted, we just started the third season on Paramount+, so we will have to wait a while to see this episode.

Here is a fun fact about the episode: the puppets were created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, and it is directed by Jordan Canning, who also directed Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock.

June 12th, 2025 under Star Trek. [ Comments: none ]

The third season of Strange New Worlds is going to drop on July 17th. But today, the Star Trek prequel was picked up for a fifth and final season by Paramount+.

“From the very beginning, STRANGE NEW WORLDS set out to honor what STAR TREK has always stood for — boundless curiosity, hope and the belief that a better future is possible,” said executive producers Akiva Goldsman, Henry Alonso Myers and Alex Kurtzman. “We’re deeply grateful to Paramount+ for the chance to complete our five-season mission, just as we envisioned it, alongside our extraordinary cast and crew. And to the passionate fans who’ve boldly joined us on this journey — THANK YOU. With three more spectacular seasons ahead for you to see and enjoy, this adventure is far from over.”

SNW tells the story of Captain Pike. He ran the Enterprise before Kirk and appeared in the pilot episode of Star Trek: Mothership. So in this series, we get a young Kirk, Spock, and Uhura become the crew we got to know and love,

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds beams down in July
May 15th, 2025 under Star Trek. [ Comments: none ]

I know people are all about the Star Wars shows on Disney+, but I am a Star Trek girl. So, I was excited to see that Paramount+ finally announced when Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will debut its third season.

In season three, when we reconnect with the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, still under the command of Captain Pike, they face the conclusion of season two’s harrowing encounter with the Gorn. But new life and civilizations await, including a villain that will test our characters’ grit and resolve. An exciting twist on classic Star Trek, season three takes characters both new and beloved to new heights, and dives into thrilling adventures of faith, duty, romance, comedy and mystery, with varying genres never before seen on any other Star Trek.

If you are not familiar with the Star Trek universe, Captain Pike was featured in the pilot episode of the franchise, but that is where his story stops (after one more episode). So, SNW is the origin story of him running the Enterprise before Captain Kirk takes over. Therefore, you get to see a young Kirk, Spock, Zulu, and Uhura before we got to know them in the original series.

Along with the Enterprise’s first chapters being told, we also get to watch stories that only Star Trek can tell.

SNW debuts with two episodes on July 17th, and the season finale will air on September 11th.

William Shatner has a message for Star Wars fans on May the Fourth
May 4th, 2025 under Star Trek, Star Wars, William Shatner. [ Comments: none ]

Today is May the Fourth, a day we celebrate Star Wars. Something that Trekkies, including William Shatner, do not believe in.

So, Captain Kirk has a message for all the Jedi out there. He said, “REMEMBER STAR WARS FANS… WITHOUT THE FEDERATION; YOU WOULDN’T BE HERE! WE ARE YOUR FATHER! May The Fourth Be With You…Love Starfleet!”

And just like when Darth Vader told Luke Skywalker, “No, I am your father,” the Jedi are equally as horrified that they now have to send him a Father’s Day card.

Is it wrong that I wish that one day we can all live long and prosper as one? Granted, I am neither a Trekkie nor a Jedi! I am an Orkan, “Nanu, Nanu!”

In a strange new world Spock has sex!
April 2nd, 2025 under Star Trek. [ Comments: none ]

Last summer, I finally watched the original Star Trek, much to the excitement of my Trekkie friends, who were tired of my Star Wars jokes. I need to rewatch it so I can stop making relevant Star Trek jokes.

Anyway, one of the things that interested me most about Star Trek was Captain Pike. Why had I not heard about him before I watched the pilot? I wanted to know his backstory.

Then my friend told me that Paramount+ was telling his and the Enterprise’s story in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and it is the best spinoff to come from the Mothership. After watching the first two seasons, I agreed with them.

What other show can say they did a crossover event with the animated show Star Trek: Lower Decks, and it was mind-blowingly amazing!

Ever since I finished watching the first two seasons, I have been anxiously waiting for the third season. Today, Paramount+ released a teaser, and this summer cannot come soon enough.

In season three, when we reconnect with the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, still under the command of Captain Pike, they face the conclusion of season two’s harrowing encounter with the Gorn. But new life and civilizations await, including a villain that will test our characters’ grit and resolve. An exciting twist on classic Star Trek, season three takes characters both new and beloved, to new heights and dives into thrilling adventures of faith, duty, romance, comedy and mystery with varying genres never before seen on any other Star Trek.

The first two seasons of SNW, along with all the other Star Trek shows and movies, are streaming on Paramount+.
