When you think of Sir Patrick Stewart, you think of a handsome bald man. Turns out if you put some hair and makeup on him, he transforms into a gorgeous woman.
Why such a drastic change in his appearance? For some reason, someone thought that was a good way to promote his show Blunt Talk. To be blunt, it worked!
Can I have a blunt talk with you? I don’t know about you, but it pisses me off when I see celebrities have someone else hold an umbrella over their heads. Well not only is Sir Patrick Stewart manly enough to hold his own umbrella, he is manly enough to hold a dainty parasol with pride. Just two more reasons to love him. As if we needed anymore.

When I heard that the lovable Sir Patrick Stewart was going to play an television anchor who is on the verge of losing it, I got excited for Blunt Talk that debuts at 9p on Starz tonight. Then I saw the first two episodes, and I was disappointed.
Walter Blunt is the anchor of a nightly news show and his ratings are declining. He’s afraid that they are going to fire him, so he is drinking more than usual. One night when he assistant Harry is sleeping in the backseat, he has too much to drink. He goes for a drive picks up a prostitute and gets caught by the police. But he doesn’t just get arrested, he causes an over the top scene that gets caught by cameras. Now everyone knows about the arrest and he needs to save his job.
Now that would be fun if they threw caution to the wind, but they didn’t. They hold back too much and what could’ve been a wild and crazy show, is just there. It’s like going out with your friends for a night you will never forget and having one glass of wine. Boring, right? This show is on Starz and it should the wildest show on TV, and not something that should be broadcast. Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll gets it right on FX, and this show gets it wrong. So if you have nothing else to watch tonight, then I say watch this. But sadly, you can skip it and you won’t be missing anything. Which is a shame because Sir Patrick Stewart deserves so much more than this.
Sir Patrick Stewart was on Conan yesterday and the TBS late night wanted to know more about a photo that his guest took with Sir Ian McKellen. The two Sirs were photographed sharing a kiss on the lips and O’Brien wanted to know more. Stewart explained that is how they say hello and goodbye to each other. As Conan kept asking more about it and Stewart admitting he would give Sir Sean Connery some tongue, Captain Picard wanted to know if Conan wanted a kiss on his lips. He agreed and the two men shared a lovely lip lock. How lovely? Conan described it as, “That was fantastic!” Then he explained why it was fantastic, “I felt passion. You, you, you’re iconic actor. You are a great man. We kissed. I felt that you suddenly accepted me as your better.” Then after the man who just left him speechless asked him if he felt a connection, Conan said that he did feel one. I felt it through the screen. So much so I wanted to be the Nutella in that sandwich. Didn’t you feel their connection?
And if that is not enough Conan for you, here’s Donald Trump directing the show yesterday on the recently renamed TrumpBS.
Sir Ian McKellen stopped by Yahoo! offices to talk about Mr Holmes, but they asked something off topic. They wanted to see how two of this year’s biggest songs would sound if he read them. They gave him the lyrics to Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood and Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk and told him to work his magic. What happens next is something so brilliant that only he can accomplish it. He made Swift sound smarter and Mars’ funkier, and that is a good thing.
How can you not love this man, it’s elementary!
