Tis the season for holiday specials and The Cleveland Show is getting their first of many Thanksgiving’s episode tonight on Fox at 8:30p! And what better to celebrate Turkey Day with, but with a band who has given us many songs to be thankful for…Hall & Oates! I can’t wait to see what this singing duo on my favorite new animated show of the fall. (Shhh it is the only new animated show that premiered this fall, but you know what I mean!)
BTW something I am thankful for is what Seth MacFarlane created all those years ago with Family Guy that lead to The Cleveland Show and American Dad. Sunday nights are better because of him!
Yesterday on Fox’s special Family Guy Presents Seth and Alexs Almost Live Comedy Show, Marlee Matlin proved why she is an Oscar winner. While I am not trying to take away Marlee’s amazing performance in Children of a Lesser G-d, what she did on the show yesterday was just brilliant. The way she confronts Alex Bornstein for making fun of her was just genius and seemed like it was real. It was a true Oscar worthy moment because if you didn’t know it was fake, you would think she was serious. Granted I am assuming that was fake…
Gotta love Marlee Matlin for giving it as well as she can take it!
Just like Scrappy, Cleveland is getting his own show (The Cleveland Show) tonight on Fox at 8:30p. Cleveland Brown leaves Quahog tonight with his son and heads to LA, but he makes a quick detour to his hometown of Stoolbend, VA and winds up marrying the second Mrs. Cleveland Brown! Cleveland and Cleveland Jr move in with Donna and her two kids, teenage Roberta and 5 year old Rallo. And it is going to take a lot of adjusting for the 5 of them to get to used to each other. Cleveland also has new neighbors that he gets to drink with and including a bear and a redneck. Wait until you see what happens between him and the redneck on the third episode. Let’s just say it is so politically incorrect and I love that!!!
Tonight’s episode sets up the Family Guy spinoff, but starting next week you get the feel for this hysterical show! Just like Family Guy it has that wrong but oh so right humor, but unlike the show it is spinning off from it is a little more of a family sitcom. Not saying Family Guy isn’t a family sitcom, but this one has more the feel of the classic ones from the ’70s!
A few weeks ago I spoke with Cleveland (Mike Henry) and his son Cleveland Jr (Kevin Michael Richardson) at the Fox Eco party and they talked about the animated show that debuts tonight! Mike Henry told me, “You haven’t begun to see who Cleveland is. I mean, he’s a sweetheart, you root for him, but he’s also a whack job. So you will see a lot of that soon.” I can’t wait to what a real whack job he turns out to be, about time he broke out of that shell. Kevin Michael Richardson told me he has to remind Mike Henry “that he’s white because he is so good that he even fools me. I have to remind myself, you know, so, this guy is fantastic.” Both of them are fantastic with all the voices they do on The Cleveland Show! What is also fantastic is the list of guest stars they have coming up on the show like Earth, Wind and Fire, Ed Asner and Kanye West to name a few. When you listen to the above interview you will hear who else they have and also Kevin does a dead-on Barack Obama impression!
So check out The Cleveland Show tonight and every Sunday at 8:30p on Fox for a show that will make you LYAO!!!
The Simpsons is back for its 20th year tonight on Fox at 8p and the show is not running out of ideas and it is still as good as season one. On tonight’s episode Comic Book Guy actually writes comics and Everyman is getting turned into a movie. Comic Book Guy works out a deal that he can pick who is going to play the lead and he chooses Homer Simpson. Of course he made a big mistake and you have to check it out tonight to see just how bad of decision it is!
Following The Simpsons at 8:30p is The Cleveland Show and I will write a review of this sure-to-be Seth MacFarlane’s latest hit in another post!
Next up at 9p is Seth MacFarlane’s first show on Fox Family Guy and this show gets funnier and funnier each season. Tonight Stewie has a machine that transports Brian and him through alternate universes. They go to different universes where one is like The Flinstones, one where they are human, another where dogs walk their human pets, and the best one is where everything is drawn by Disney. Disney will not be happy with it, but I thought it was hysterical!!! I can’t wait to see what else they have coming up this season because the Emmy nominated show just keeps getting better and wronger!
Wrapping up the night at 9:30p is American Dad and it is great way to end the night. Steve is asked to sing the national anthem and Stan decides to coach him to do it right. Of course Stan isn’t happy with the way he sings it, so he takes him to a war recreation to get the feeling of being proud to be American and hell breaks loose…much like the war they were recreating.

I can’t watch the Emmys’ pre-show because I think all of anchors who do them suck. But because of my stubbornness, I missed out on Seth MacFarlane saying the F-word on E!’s pre-show coverage! Gotta love Seth MacFarlane for actually making Giuliana Rancic interesting. BTW she was totally asking for it because you can’t tell someone not to curse and expect them not too!
Hopefully next year Family Guy will not only be nominated again, but this time they will actually win!!!
