Listen to the new voice of Kermit the Frog
August 29th, 2017 under Sesame Street/Muppets. [ Comments: none ]

Last month, we found out that Sesame Street fired Steve Whitmire, who was the voice of Kermit the Frog since 1990, and we were all sad that a voice from our childhood was unceremoniously taken away from us.

Yesterday, the Muppets introduced his new voice. Even though Matt Vogel sounds like the amphibian we know, he is missing the joy that Whitmire brought to it. He sounded a like a frog in a pond full of lily pads and flies. While the new guy sounds like he is about to croak. And not as in the type of sound the character makes when Miss Piggy and him are alone!

Josh Groban tells a kids’ joke!
August 17th, 2017 under Josh Groban, Sesame Street/Muppets. [ Comments: 2 ]

Sesame Street has a new challenge for their viewers and they want them to #ShareTheLaughter. What is the best way to do that? Tell a joke of course. Here is Josh Groban asking, “What kind of songs do planets sing?” To hear the answer, you are going to have to watch the video above as the singer shares a secret only he and Neil deGrasse Tyson would know.

I love Grobs but when it comes to his delivery, it is good thing that he is a double threat. Does anyone know if he can dance and does he dance to Neptunes?

BTW I love kids jokes, so here is one of my favorite, “Knock knock. Who’s there? A little old lady? A little old lady who? I didn’t know you could yodel!” Share some of your favorite jokes for kids because it will brighten everybody’s day including mine.

Kermit the Frog lost his voice
July 11th, 2017 under Sesame Street/Muppets. [ Comments: none ]

Remember how upset you were when you found out that Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog broke up for their now cancelled primetime series on ABC? Well today there is even more upsetting news coming out of The Muppets world. According to Tough Pigs, Steve Whitmore, who has voiced the amphibian since 1990, is no longer doing so.

No reason was given for his sudden departure after 27 years, but it is a sad day for all of us. If you think about it, most of grew up only knowing his voice coming out of Kermit. In a way part of our childhoods croaked with this news because we all grew up with Kermit.

Kermit is still part of The Muppets, he will now be voiced by Matt Vogel. His first appearance as Kermit will be next week in Muppets Thought of the Week.

Tickle Me Elmo is more horrifying than ever
April 17th, 2017 under Sesame Street/Muppets. [ Comments: none ]

Remember when you saw Tickle Me Elmo for the first time, you thought it was the cutest thing ever? Then the more heard the red Sesame Street Muppet laugh, the more annoying it became. It started to haunt your nightmares like Freddy Krueger.

That is nothing as compared to what this video from The Chive will do to you. Someone skinned the laughing doll of its red fur and white stuffing. What’s left is something you see in Horror movies right before someone is killed off by that maniacal creature. With that I won’t be sleeping for a while.

While I am not happy about this, parents are now rejoicing because they have a way to wean their kids off of Elmo. One look at this and they will be throwing their toys out faster than he can laugh.
