Kate McKinnon is used to dressing up on Saturday Night Live all the time, but most of the time she dresses up as monsters like Jeff Sessions. Sesame Street asked her to dress up for them. Although, they asked her to read about a monster and not be one.
Who is that monster? Why Elmo of course! He might not be your ordinary one, but he is one Mother Goose can write a nursery rhyme about. If more monsters were like him, the world would be a better place.
When it comes to McKinnon. It looks like she could totally have a career as the host of a kids show because the look really suits her. Or should I say the dress suits her? Better than the Ghostbusters’ one. That is a whole other story, one no kid or adult should know about.
Jason Mraz’s song I’m Yours is already a pretty happy jam that makes you feels good. Well. Sesame Street found a way to make the tune even happier. They reworked the lyrics to tell kids to go outside. It inspired me so much, and I won’t stay inside, no more, no more. But it is raining out, so now I am upset and wet. But when the sun comes out again, then I will try it again.
Seriously though, this song can brighten any day. Even a day that is gloomy like today.
There is so much sadness and anger going on in the world today, that we need to take a break from it all and find something happy to enjoy! Here is a mashup of Sesame Street dancing numbers throughout the decades and I dare you not to smile as you watch the video. Just like saying the title to REM’s Shiny Happy People three times, it is impossible not to turn your frown upside down. So do it! And if you are up for, then get up and dance like Gabe Kaplan, Terry Crews, Melissa McCarthy, Amy Poehler, Sofia Vergara, Usher, Elmo and the rest of the Sesame Street gang!
Last month, we found out that Sesame Street fired Steve Whitmire, who was the voice of Kermit the Frog since 1990, and we were all sad that a voice from our childhood was unceremoniously taken away from us.
Yesterday, the Muppets introduced his new voice. Even though Matt Vogel sounds like the amphibian we know, he is missing the joy that Whitmire brought to it. He sounded a like a frog in a pond full of lily pads and flies. While the new guy sounds like he is about to croak. And not as in the type of sound the character makes when Miss Piggy and him are alone!
Sesame Street has a new challenge for their viewers and they want them to #ShareTheLaughter. What is the best way to do that? Tell a joke of course. Here is Josh Groban asking, “What kind of songs do planets sing?” To hear the answer, you are going to have to watch the video above as the singer shares a secret only he and Neil deGrasse Tyson would know.
I love Grobs but when it comes to his delivery, it is good thing that he is a double threat. Does anyone know if he can dance and does he dance to Neptunes?
BTW I love kids jokes, so here is one of my favorite, “Knock knock. Who’s there? A little old lady? A little old lady who? I didn’t know you could yodel!” Share some of your favorite jokes for kids because it will brighten everybody’s day including mine.
