Josh Groban sings with his Sesame Street friends!
February 13th, 2019 under Josh Groban, Sesame Street/Muppets. [ Comments: none ]

Everyone wants to be friends with Josh Groban. However no one more than Elmo, Abby and Rosita. Luckily for three of the residents on Sesame Street, not only did their wish come true, but they also got to a sing a song with him. That song is Hey Friend and now I cannot stop singing it. Isn’t it just the happiest song? I know it turned my frown upside down. Did it do the same for you?

Peter Krause tells Kermit Frog he sent a lot of puppets six feet under
November 30th, 2018 under James Corden, Sesame Street/Muppets. [ Comments: none ]

Peter Krause and Kermit the Frog were on The Late Late Show yesterday and James Corden wanted to know about some of the odd jobs he had before he became famous.

Back when he was in college, he ran a puppet wagon over the summer in Minnesota and he would do puppet shows. One day, when they were hooking the fairy tale house up to the Ford Bronco, they did not do a good job. As he was driving, the 9-1-1 star noticed that it was swerving behind him. He tried to turn to get it to get out of the way of traffic, but it made things worse. The house rolled over several times, causing all of the puppets to be scattered on the road.

He told Kermit, he was able to save his friends Bert and Ernie, but several did not make it. To which the Muppet told him, “Remind me to never get in the car with you if you are my Uber driver.” Who knew at nighttime Kermit was such a mean comedian? I like it, I really like it! And who knew that Krause was a puppet killer?

Don’t believe me, watch him one up everyone when they talk about their past dating experiences. Too bad he did not give it to Minka Kelly when she told him she kissed enough frogs for a lifetime.

How can Sesame Street say Bert & Ernie are not gay and have them sing this song?
September 20th, 2018 under Sesame Street/Muppets. [ Comments: none ]

Over the weekend, former Sesame Street writer Mark Saltzman told Queerty that he based Bert and Ernie on his relationship with film editor Arnold Glassman.

Then Frank Oz who created them chimed in with, “It seems Mr. Mark Saltzman was asked if Bert & Ernie are gay. It’s fine that he feels they are. They’re not, of course. But why that question? Does it really matter? Why the need to define people as only gay? There’s much more to a human being than just straightness or gayness.”

I would be able to take Oz’s words more seriously if Sesame Street did not post the roommates signing the Ding Along Song. I mean that is a slang reference for the male genitalia, right? Actually, the whole song sounds like it is paying homage to the ding dong. But it might just be me and my very sick mind. Is it?

The Happytime Murders is the funniest movie of the year
August 24th, 2018 under Joel McHale, Melissa McCarthy, Sesame Street/Muppets. [ Comments: none ]

When I saw the trailer for The Happytime Murders, I watched it in a loop because I could not get enough of it. I was like did I just see a puppet have sex and ejaculate all over the place for what seems like forever. At that moment, I was in love. However, I was a little hesitant that all of the highlarious moments would just be in the trailer. Boy was I wrong, there are several more moments that you can never unsee. Yet, they will make you laugh until you cry. Thus, you are going to run out and want to see the movie that is in theaters now.

For over 30 years, puppets have lived among us, but now they are starting to get their own identities. Phil Phillips (Bill Barretta) is one of them and he was the first and only puppet cop. One day, when he was out on assignment, something goes wrong and he was fired from the force. Now, he works as a private eye.

Sandra White (Dorien Davies) comes to him for help. She hands him a letter full of cut out letters that someone is threatening to expose her secret sexual life. She cannot let this happen to her, so she asks Phil to help her.

His first clue leads him to an adult bookstore that he frequents. He runs into an old friend, Mr. Bumblypants (Kevin Clash), who denies that it is he shopping at the store. However, Phil is not there to catch up, he needs to solve his case. He goes to the back room to get a file. While he is there, everyone in the front is gunned down. Stuffing and more will fly all over the place.

The cops are called in and his old partner, Detective Edwards (Melissa McCarthy) is one of them. The two of them cannot stand each other. Nevertheless, as more murder count starts to go up wherever Phil is at, the two of them realize they are going to have to work together. Because now the case is personal, they killed his brother, Larry (Victor Yerrid) and Phil’s ex-girlfriend, Jenny (Elizabeth Banks). Humans and puppets get it on; do you have a problem with that?

Back to the case, Phil realizes that they all have something in common; they were all on the show Happytime Gang. Why is someone killing everyone off from this beloved show? That is what Phil and Edwards have to find out before they are all past tense.

Thankfully, they will have some help from Lieutenant Banning (Leslie David Baker) and FBI agent Campbell (Joel McHale). Although, the latter one hates puppets especially Phil.

Just when you think you know what is going to happen next, they surprise you. All leading to one hell of an ending to an epic movie that is your new go-to comedy when you need to laugh uncontrollably.

Brian Henson, Jim Henson’s son, directed this movie. His father gave us The Muppets for kids, and his son gives us puppets for adults. Why can’t we have something that our kids cannot have that makes us feel like kids?

As I said, this is not a movie for kids. There is a lot of raunchy humor, but it is not disgusting. I still have images from the movie; I cannot get out of my head. That is not a bad thing because I laugh when I ever I think of some of the things they did in the adult bookstore and many of the other scenes. It is very creative is all I will say.

Well, that and do not listen to the critics who hate this movie. They love Oscar-nominated movies and those put us to sleep. This movie will make you laugh until you pee. Therefore, bring a towel with you.

In addition, make sure to stay through the credits to see some behind the scenes action. Like how the puppets interacted with the humans and that sex scene. The sex one was so wrong, and yet so right.

Just like the title The Happytime Murders, you will leave having had a happy time and a killer one!

Lucy Liu sings about shoes
August 14th, 2018 under Sesame Street/Muppets. [ Comments: none ]

Most celebrities when they are on Sesame Street sing about educational things like the alphabet. Not Lucy Liu who plays a doctor on Elementary. Instead, she sang about shoes.

While it might not be the smartest thing to talk about on the children’s show, it will make her nearly three-year-old son, Rockwell, very proud of his mommy. That is because he just became the coolest kid in his nursery cool. No matter what any of the others parents do, none of them are on Sesame Street in princess-like heels, like his mother.
