Hot in Cleveland has more episodes than Betty White’s age!
August 27th, 2014 under Sean Hayes. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 10p on TV Land, Hot in Cleveland turns 100. That is eight more episodes than the years that their star Betty White has been alive. Which is quite an accomplishment for both of them! Here’s to them both doubling those numbers.
When it comes to episode, it is a laugh riot from beginning to end. I found myself laughing so hard, I had tears come to my eyes because they really go for it tonight repeatedly.
The night that Victoria Chase (Wendie Malick) and Elka (Betty White) have been waiting for is finally here. It is Oscar night for Victoria and Election Day for Elka, and by the end of the episode both ladies will find out if they won.
Chase can’t fake her emotions if she loses, so she decides to do a Joan Crawford and stay in her Cleveland bed with a network camera rolling in case she win. As she waits for her category to be announced, Joy is by her side dressed as a nurse but things keep going wrong. Joy (Jane Leeves) tries to correct everything, and the final product will have you laughing so hard it will make you cry. But will you be crying for Chase because she lost?
Then there is Elka, who is playing dirty to win. She comes up with a great plan to sabotage her opponent and it will cost her more than she ever thought. Will it also cost her the election?
What about the last roommate, Melanie (Valerie Bertinelli)? The radio station has created some visuals to promote her show and they photoshopped her picture. People are laughing about her online, so she decides to go on a diet. Things only get worse for her when her mother decides to come for a visit. That and not eating anything to lose weight. You don’t want miss her freak out. And you don’t want miss why all the girls rightfully give Joy the finger.
And you especially don’t want to miss this episode. Even though the sitcom is turning 100, it never gets old. In fact, I think this season they have gone through a resurgence and it is their best one yet. Not many shows can claim that at this stage of the game. Actually not many shows can say they’ve reached this number and TV Land’s first scripted show totally deserves it.
Congrats to everyone who works on this show for not only reaching this milestone, but also for coming up with a comedy that everyone of all ages can enjoy.

The prank that almost killed Valerie Bertinelli in a morgue!
August 20th, 2014 under Pranks, Sean Hayes, Valerie Bertinelli. [ Comments: none ]

Valerie Bertinelli was filming a scene for Hot in Cleveland in a makeshift morgue, when she found herself almost being sent to a real one.
Melanie tells Joy on the phone, “Over my dead body,” as she looks at a dead body under a sheet. I guess she was expecting a dummy to be under it; because when the body suddenly sits up, she nearly has a heart attack.
The prankster is the Executive Producer of the show Todd Milliner, and the cuter than cute actress called him what she probably just did in her pants. Which you can’t blame her because we would all do the same thing.
That prank shows what a fun set they have for the sitcom and that is why it won’t be sent to the television morgue any time soon. So make sure to tune in tonight at 10p on TV Land for another hysterical episode.

Hot in Cleveland gets even more animated!
July 16th, 2014 under Sean Hayes. [ Comments: none ]

Hot in Cleveland is naturally a very animated show and in two weeks (7/30) the sitcom will literally be animated. That’s because out girls will be drawn for a special episode that also stars Steven Tyler.
So how do our girls become cartoonish? According to TV Land:

The episode starts with the women at Elka’s apartment, which before now has been a mystery to them…and they soon find out why. From there, they will meet up with Steven Tyler (and some other special friends) and go on a psychedelic romp through pop culture hits, including scenes with homages to “Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory,” “The Walking Dead” and “Frankenstein.” Plus, they’ll also see what life in Cleveland would have been like if LeBron James had never left.

This episode was obviously planned out for a while, so it will be interesting to see if it will be dated when it comes to the King James part of the story.
Now when it comes to animated versions of Betty White, Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick, it is scary how much they look like the real thing. Don’t you agree?

It’s Anthony Anderson vs Yvette Nicole Brown on Hollywood Game Night!
March 6th, 2014 under Anthony Anderson, Sean Hayes. [ Comments: none ]

Hollywood Game Night has two former champions battling it out tonight at 9p on NBC, and Anthony Anderson and Yvette Nicole Brown really brought it.
Before the episode taped, we talked to both teams about what to expect; and they all agreed it was about Anthony vs Yvette. When Anderson was asked about it, he said “Look at her competition, wouldn’t you be fired up? I am not even taking out my Invisalign to play Yvette. I’m keeping my Invisalign in.” Her plans to win were a little bit different. She revealed, “I have a strategy we won’t share, but everything that looks like liquor, is not liquor on this team.” The she added, “Anthony Anderson is sauced already.”
He wasn’t the only one getting into the good stuff on his team. For Tiffani Thiessen taping HGN was also about having a night out with her husband. Something the parents of a toddler don’t get to do as much as they would like. And thankfully for her husband and Yvette, there was plenty for her to drink because that is something the contestants are able to do on this show unlike other game shows. So how drunk will they get? You just have to watch as Brown, Pete Wentz and Adam Scott battle Anderson, Thiessen and Gary Dell’Abate to be the ultimate winner on Hollywood Game Night.
Well that and for one of the best episodes yet of Hollywood Game Night that is so much fun you just want to play along with them. Most likely will be as you trying to guess the answers with them. And since they get to drink when they play the game, why don’t you do the same because tomorrow is Friday so it’s basically the weekend. Party on with Hollywood Game Night.

Sean Saves the World, but he can’t save the show
January 28th, 2014 under Sean Hayes. [ Comments: none ]

NBC has stopped production on Sean Saves the World, 4 episode short of the amount that the network asked for according to Deadline. So instead of us getting 18 episodes of the very funny sitcom, we are only getting 14. So far 12 have aired and the last 2 will air after the Olympics.
I don’t get this decision because it does better than the Michael J Fox Show and it is a lot funnier. I guess because they ordered a full season of MJF’s show before it even aired that is why they are keeping it on, but I think it is a mistake. They should’ve let the SSTW finish its original order because it is worth at least 18 episodes.
When it comes to what is coming up, About a Boy is darling but I honestly don’t know what type of audience Growing Up Fisher is going to attract. So pulling Sean for Fisher might not be their smartest decision. Especially because Sean is already established and again it is a really funny show.
Oh well, I have given up trying to figure out what NBC and all the other networks are doing any more because they are all clueless to me.
Hopefully Sean Hayes, Linda Lavin, Tom Lennon, Megan Hilty and Echo Kellum will all be back on TV in the fall because they are all talented actors.
