There have been television movies, documentaries, and a series about the Menendez Brothers killing their parents in 1989. So I ask you, do we need another one?
Netflix and Ryan Murphy think we do, so they are giving us Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story on September 19th. What more can they tell us? What more do we need to hear?
Andrew Cunanan, Jeffrey Dahmer, and Monica Lewinsky made sense because their stories had not been told. However, the Menendez’s tale has been told over and over again.
So, will I watch it? It has two things going against it. One – I just don’t care about them. Two – When was the last time Murphy did something that was watchable from the first episode to the finale?
9-1-1: Lone Star took the last season off because of the strikes. However, it is coming back in a big way on September 23rd.
Fox released a first look today, and the first few episodes are going to be exciting and must-not-miss.
In the upcoming fifth season, Captains Strand and Vega, along with the 126 team, race into action when in a multi-episodic opening storyline, a catastrophic train derailment endangers several lives, including some of their own. With Judd resigning from the 126 to take care of his recently handicapped son Wyatt (Jackson Pace), Owen must find a new lieutenant to replace Judd and has a difficult decision ahead of him when both Marjan and Paul apply for the promotion. Tommy is ready to take the next step in her relationship, but she finds the road to happiness is filled with obstacles. On his 30th birthday, T.K. gets a surprise visit from someone from his past that could change his and Carlos’ lives forever. Now officially husband and husband, T.K. and Carlos’ marriage is put to the test when Carlos becomes obsessed with solving his father’s murder.
I can’t wait for the first responders’ procedural to be back!
9-1-1 moved over to ABC, leaving 9-1-1: Lonestar all alone on Fox. The latter took this year off because of the strikes. And now it looks like Lonestar is ending.
Robyn Lively, who joined the series this season, posted this message on social media: “So excited to be a part of @911lonestar’s final season!! What a ride it’s been! You guys.. let’s be so for real, if teen me could’ve peered into the future and saw me on set working with @roblowe in a fiery blaze of glory… know what I meeean?! Tune in, the show is awesome and the cast and crew have been top tier. I’ve loved every second!”
As of now, Fox has not yet commented. Would you be upset if it ended with season 5?
9-1-1 almost had to call 9-1-1 this season because of Peter Krause. Kenneth Choi shared a video of his co-star filming a scene that required him to leave a house and walk over to the pool.
The house had a wall with floor-length windows that look out the backyard. Well, they cleaned the windows so well that he didn’t realize they were there. So, Captain Nash went and bashed into the window.
Thankfully, his pride was hurt more than anything else, so he just laughed it off.
And here is my story about him. I was working on the same lot as him. I saw him walking by as he was memorizing his lines. He was so fixated on learning them that nothing could distract him. I was like, is this his ghost from Six Feet Under?
The point of that story is that he gets so into his acting that I can totally understand how this happened to him.
If you are not following Kenneth Choi on social media, you need to do so. He shares videos like this all the time!
ABC saved 9-1-1 from Fox’s cancellation at the end of last season.
The show debuted to huge numbers on March 14th. So, ABC is not going to wait to renew the first responders procedural for a 2nd/8th season. Therefore, Variety is reporting the network picked it up today for the 2024-2025 season.
Granted, the decision is such a no-brainer that anyone could see it coming.
