When you watch the trailer for Cats, you think this musical looks beautiful. I cannot wait to see it this Christmas.
Then you remember that it was one of Manhattan’s biggest mysteries. People wondered why it was the longest-running musical on the Great White Way when almost everyone who saw it, hated it.
I grew up in NYC, so I went to plenty of Broadway shows growing up. Cats was the first one I hated and so did my parents. And we are cat people. Andrew Lloyd Webber has made some great shows and some awful ones. This falls in with the latter.
When it comes to Jennifer Hudson singing Memory, her singing is all power with no emotion. It is a showstopping number because it is the heart of the show. Not enough heart in her voice. The other problem is it cast a lot of A-listers, they are just celebrities that people find annoying. Not Judi Dench or Idris Elba, but you know who.
Rebel Wilson and Anne Hathaway are doing press for their movie Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Extra wanted to know who is the better con artist. Hathaway said her co-star is because of her improv skills.
Then Renee Bargh wanted to know what was the last lie they told. Wilson said she recently had to go to the bathroom, but they were all locked up for the night. Thus she went up to one of the workers and asked if they could open one up for her because she is pregnant. But that was not the first time she did that and it was also not the last. Then she admitted why that works, “Because the way my stomach is, I could be pregnant, I could be.”
Then Hathaway warned her not to do that because the tabloids could have a field day with it. However, if she has done it a few time and no one cares, then I think she is safe.
Rebel Wilson was photographed with her hand on Anne Hathaway’s boob, so do the dirty rotten scoundrels have something to tell us? Yes, they do. They wanted to let us know that they are having a blast filming the remake of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
While they are enjoying it, I am sure we will have the opposite feeling if we actually go to see it. Does anyone, but the people making the movie, think it is going to be good?
Around the time that Pitch Perfect 2 came out, Aussie media made claims that Rebel Wilson lied about her name, her age and her childhood and she said those claims were a lie. In fact, the actress said that the articles cost her 2 acting jobs. Therefore, she sued Bauer Media and yesterday she won $4.5 million which is Australia’s highest-ever defamation payout. Instead of pocketing the money, she said, “I will be putting that money to good use by donating it to charity and investing in an Australian film.” Who will be getting the money will be delegated when she gets it. If she gets it because you know how that goes. They will appeal and it will be years before she gets anything. But the thought is nice.
Who knew doing comedies was so dangerous for actors, but turns out they are. First, action star Jeremy Renner broke both of his arms doing a stunt for the funny movie Tag and now Rebel Wilson injured her head while filming a scene for the RomCom Isn’t It Romantic.
The actress posted the above photo and explained what happened, “Started the day with a fall that led to a mild concussion…yet somehow looking not bad at 7pm…thank you to everyone on Long Island who helped me today in the emergency room & ambulance.”
I hope the bump on her noggin knocked some sense into her and will cause her to turn down Greg Berlanti’s Little Shop of Horrors’ remake because she is no Audrey and Josh Gad is no Seymour. WTF are they thinking?
