Inglourious Basterds is now Quentin Tarantino’s top grossing movie!!!
September 21st, 2009 under Quentin Tarantino. [ Comments: none ]

That’s a Bingo!!! Over the weekend Quentin Tarantino’s WWII masterpiece Inglourious Basterds became his highest grossing movie to date domestically surpassing the $108 million that Pulp Fiction made in 1994. It took the movie less than a month to beat his old box office numbers largely because of all the great word of mouth and it is the first movie to see a positive growth from Twitter. While other movies have been hampered due to it, Inglourious Basterds was helped by all the positive feedback and Tweets.
The Weinstein Company’s Co-chairman Harvey Weinstein had this to say about QT’s huge milestone, “We have been Quentin’s biggest fans since the beginning. It was extremely gratifying to see ‘Inglourious Basterds’ put up such huge numbers. It is a kick ass film from a director who always keeps me and audiences on their toes.”
IB is definitely a kick a$$ movie that has to be seen more than once which also helped to keep this movie towards the top of the box office charts! So if you haven’t seen it yet run out and see it now, and if you have seen why not go see it again!!! Heck we are all going to be re-watching it in March anyways to see Christoph Waltz’s Oscar winning performance again!!!

What’s worse Brad Pitt’s beard or his shoes?
September 18th, 2009 under Brangelina, Quentin Tarantino. [ Comments: 10 ]

Brad Pitt is in Spain to promote Inglourious Basterds at the 57th San Sebastian Film Festival and he debuted his scruffy beard and initialed shoes. And all I have to say is where is Angelina Jolie when he needs her? I saw that earlier in the week she was doing some goodwill trip somewhere in the world, but really her goodwill is needed to clean up her man. I mean the normally dapper actor wasn’t looking so good with his unkempt beard. Now I understand he is in between movies since Moneyball was put on hold and he can let his facial hair go wild, but he can still keep it neat at press events? Is that too much to ask? Now when it comes to the shoes, that is so cheesy. Seriously shoes with his initials on it? I mean I know he is not as recognizable as normal, but c’mon we all know that is Brad Pitt. We don’t need the BP on his shoes to identify him.
BTW on an Inglourious Basterds note, looks like the movie will becomes Quentin Tarantino’s best grossing movie in The States this weekend surpassing the $108 million Pulp Fiction made! Mazel tov!!!

Hitler reacts to Inglourious Basterds and Eli Roth reacts to Hitler reacting IB!!!
September 3rd, 2009 under Eli Roth, Quentin Tarantino. [ Comments: 3 ]

DON’T WATCH THE CLIP IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN IB AND PLAN TO!
(And if you haven’t seen it yet, WTF are you waiting for?)

via the Inglourious Basterds Facebook page!
I think by now everyone knows that Hitler dies at the end of Quentin Tarantino’s WWII masterpiece Inglourious Basterds and I have been wondering what he would’ve thought of the way QT changed history up. I know I personally I loved that Eli Roth shot the sh!t out of him, but looks like The Fuhrer doesn’t exactly agree with me.
Seriously that is one of the funniest things I have seen in a while! The angrier he got, the harder I laughed!

UPDATE: So what does The Bear Jew think about this bloody Brilliant video? Here is what he told me, “I have never been more proud. I’ll take an angry Adolph over a shiny Oscar any day.” I personally would love to see Eli get a shiny Oscar, but seeing Hitler angry is not too drab!!!

Three awesome movies rightfully top the Box Office
August 30th, 2009 under Halloween (movies), Quentin Tarantino, The Final Destination. [ Comments: none ]

(photo © Warner Bros)

It is very rare these days that there are three good movies out there to see at the same time and this weekend that was just the case! The Final Destination, Inglourious Basterds and Halloween 2 were the top 3 movies for the weekend according to the LA Times. Warner Bros’ FD4 brought in $28.3 million whose total was aided by being screened in 3D in over half the theaters it was shown in. Not far behind were The Weinstein Company’s Inglourious Basterds that added $20 million to its total of $73.8 million domestically and Rob Zombie’s H2 made $17.4 million which was over $2 million more than it cost to make it. Not bad at all!
Seriously all three movies are must-sees, so if you haven’t seen any of the three yet go out on this hot day and enjoy watching them in air conditionered theater!!! What better way to spend a hot day then with a really enjoyable flick!

Not only did Inglourious Basterds kick Nazi a$$, it kicked box office a$$ too!

Mazel tov to Quentin Tarantino and his Inglourious Basterds for kicking major box office a$$ this weekend. QT’s masterpiece brought in $37.6 million domestically and $65.1 internationally and those are his best numbers to date. How good are those numbers that is over $12 million more than what he made in the US for his last highest first week of $25.1 for Kill Bill Volume 2 back in 2004. And not only is it is his highest opener, but according to the LA Times it is the highest first week opener for the end of August besting Superbad’s $33.1 in 2007. For all of you who thought this movie that which will go down in movie history books for changing history is just a dick flick, you are way wrong because the audience was made up of 42% females! Not too shabby for QT, Brad Pitt, Eli Roth, Diane Kruger, BJ Novak, Omar Doom, Melanie Laurent, Michael Fassbender and Christoph Waltz.
If you haven’t seen this movie, what are you waiting for? It sincerely is the best movie of the year and with those numbers everyone will be talking about it tomorrow and how Eli Roth’s character will go down in the movie history books! So why be left out of the crowd go see it now and enjoy the air conditionered movie theater on this very hot summer day!!!
BTW please continue to support The Weinstein Company by not only seeing Inglourious Basterds more than once, but also by watching Project Runway and Models of the Runway on Lifetime Thursdays starting at 10p and going to see Rob Zombie’s really scary Halloween 2 that is out on Friday, August 28th! Let’s make next week a 1-2 punch next weekend at the box office for The Weinstein Company with Inglourious Basterds and Halloween 2!!!
