The Basterds are back to Berlin!!!
July 28th, 2009 under Brangelina, Quentin Tarantino. [ Comments: none ]

Less than a year ago Quentin Tarantino was casting Inglourious Basterds and a few months away from going to Berlin to film it and today he premiered his WWII well-received epic in the location that he filmed it. Brad Pitt, Diane Kruger, Melanie Laurent, Til Schweiger and Daniel Bruhl were reunited with him to share his film with the people that were so gracious to them for the many months that they filmed there. Maybe that is why they all so look proud in these pictures, granted from what I am hearing about the film they have a lot to be proud of. I wish it was August 21st so I can see this movie already, I am sick of waiting!
Side note, Daniel Bruhl (the last photo) has to be the cutest actor to ever play a Nazi, is it wrong for me to have those thoughts?

The Inglourious Basterds trailer gets the Lego treatment
July 22nd, 2009 under Brangelina, Eli Roth, Quentin Tarantino. [ Comments: 1 ]

Inglourious Basterds is finally less than a month away and now thanks this Lego version of the teaser trailer for the movie, I am even more excited for August 21st! Seriously how bloody awesome is it with what they did to the trailer with Legos. I am blown away by what an amazing job they did with them! They even captured Donnie “The Bear Jew” Donowitz aka Eli Roth’s smirk! The only negative is LT Also Raine aka Brad Pitt had a beard as compared to that ‘stache. And that mustache was heard all around the world and caused poor innocent men to copy that look.
But back to Quentin Tarantino’s WWII epic, is it wrong for me to be jealous that people are seeing the movie now like at Comic-Con on Saturday night and tomorrow at the premiere in London? I am so sick of waiting for this movie.
Side Note: Quentin Tarantino is going to be on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! on August 7th!!! That is the same night that Eli Roth will be honored at HollyShorts with the Indie Film Visionary Award and will intro his personal copy of Cabin Fever that is 4 minutes longer than any released version of the movie. You can get the $10 tickets at the HollyShorts site.

The international trailer for Inglourious Basterds is so much more glorious
June 30th, 2009 under Brangelina, Eli Roth, Quentin Tarantino. [ Comments: none ]

The international trailer for Inglourious Basterds was just released and OMG it is so much better than the one we have been seeing here in The States. The new one has a little more humor and a faster pace to it. Doesn’t this trailer have more of the Quentin Tarantino feel than the other one? Plus as much as I love Brad Pitt, the other actors like Eli Roth, Daniel Bruhl, Til Schweiger and Mélanie Laurent are featured a more in this one.
I can’t believe I am saying this, but I actually want to see the movie more now when it comes out on August 21st than I did before.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! the full Inglourious Basterds trailer!!!
June 22nd, 2009 under Brangelina, Eli Roth, Quentin Tarantino. [ Comments: none ]

Inglourious Basterds is less than two months away, and now with the debut of the full trailer we are finally getting more insight into Quentin Tarantino’s WWII Epic starring Brad Pitt, Eli Roth and Diane Kruger. In the full trailer we are finally seeing the plot that the Basterds have to take down the Third Reich and Hitler. How thrilling does that explosive plot look! I so can’t wait for this movie on August 21st.
Sadly though I read over the weekend in NYMag that Cloris Leachman’s scene got cut from the movie.

Did your part really get cut out of Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds?
I have heard that, and I would suspect that that’s true, because it’s very long and my thing isn’t woven into the plot. It would be a very good scene to cut, in the sense that it wouldn’t hurt the picture. It’s a wonderful little scene. I love doing it and he loved it, too, but it’s not going to make or break the film.
What happens in the scene?
I’m an old Jewish woman in Brooklyn — we shot it in Berlin, but it’s supposed to be in Brooklyn — and I open the door and this young man [Eli Roth] is standing there and he asks me to sign his bat. He’s heard about these Germans, what they’re doing to Jews and he asks, “Is there anybody who’s been affected by the Nazis?” and I look at him and start signing my sister’s name. And you know that they’re just going to take the bat and just kill some Nazis.
We were hoping you’d reprise your role as the German grandma from Beerfest.
No. It’s a very serious movie. A thrilling script. Oh my goodness. I’m sorry. I wish it would be in because it’s a very good scene with a marvelous writer. But you can’t be upset about these things. It’s part of the business. I always think a better bus will come along that I’ll catch.

How can they cut out Cloris? There is always time for Miss Leachman. Plus that scene where Eli Roth goes to the families of people who are affected by the Nazis and has them sign the bat he will use to collect his scalps sounds so powerful. Hopefully since Quentin is rumored to be re-editing the movie that debuted last month at Cannes, he will add that scene to film.

UPDATE: The above trailer was only a TV spot, here is the full trauler that is :18 seconds longer!

The Inglourious Basterds storm Cannes!!!
May 20th, 2009 under Brangelina, Eli Roth, Quentin Tarantino. [ Comments: 1 ]

(photos from WireImage)

Today was Inglourious Basterds day at Cannes and the movie was a huge success there! Critics loving the movie and after the premiere screening the movie got a 10 minute standing ovation.
The day stared off with a press screening and the critics were praising Quentin Taratino’s WWII movie that will change history. Then after that the cast and QT took part in a press conference where Brad Pitt told how he became Lt Aldo Raine. He said, QT came over and when he woke up the next day there 5 empty bottles of wine and a smoking apparatus, next thing he knew he was in Germany filming IB. Dang who knew Brad was such a cheap, even I can down 5 bottles of wine and still say no…I think. Eli Roth made this comment about playing his role, “Being Jewish, this is definitely for me like Kosher porn,” Roth joked. “It’s something I fantasized about since I was a very young child.” BTW how adorable is that Miami Vice Bromance between Brad and Eli?
Next up for the Basterds was the premiere and after that screening the movie got a 10 minute standing ovation! I think that says a lot! Finally those Basterds put down their weapons and lifted their glasses to celebrate a day that went extremely well!!!
I can’t wait to see this Kosher Porn of a movie when it comes out on August 21st!!!

BTW here is video from the press conference where Brad tells the cheap date story, and also includes other cast members Diane Kruger, Mike Myers and the hottie Daniel Bruhl!!!

UPDATE: Here is the video of QT dancing with Melanie Laurent dancing on the red carpet.
