CBS dethrones Queen Latifah
May 2nd, 2025 under Queen Latifah. [ Comments: none ]

CBS had only one show that was waiting to find out if it would be back next season, and today they made their decision. The network opted not to renew The Equalizer, even though there were rumors that it could come back for a shortened sixth and final season.

Queen Latifah, who starred on the series, reacted to the cancellation. “Stepping into a kick-ass role like Robyn was everything I hoped it would be. Shakim and I at Flavor Unit are always excited to bring these kinds of roles and projects to life—and then we just hope you love them as much as we do. The Equalizer blew past every dream we had for it, and having the opportunity to do this for five seasons honestly feels surreal.

“Thank you to our amazing cast, crew, and producers and writers! And I can’t say enough about the FANS!Y’all have been so loyal, so loud, and so ride-or-die—and that’s exactly why we keep doing this. We can’t thank you enough. It means the world to us.

“And don’t worry—I’ll be back kicking ass in something new real soon. Can’t wait to share it with you.”

The procedural’s final episode will air this Sunday.

CBS moves up the season premieres of Tracker and Equalizer
July 26th, 2024 under CBS, Justin Hartley, Queen Latifah. [ Comments: none ]

When CBS announced their 2024-2025 shows would have their season premieres, the Eye said that they would debut Tracker and The Equalizer on October 27th. However, today, CBS changed things up.

So go get your calendars because you are going to want to make the appropriate changes. If you don’t, you will miss new episodes of the Justin Hartney and Queen Latifah shows.

CBS Premiere Week

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 13th
8:00-9:00 PM TRACKER (second season premiere)
9:00-11:00 PM BIG BROTHER (season finale)

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20th
8:30-9:30 PM TRACKER
9:30-10:30 PM THE EQUALIZER (fifth season premiere)

I wonder why they changed their minds because it was the smart thing to do.

Queen Latifah is still The Equalizer at CBS
April 25th, 2024 under Queen Latifah. [ Comments: none ]

Things have equaled out at CBS because today they announced that they picked up The Equalizer for a fifth season.

THE EQUALIZER, led by the incomparable Queen Latifah, has all the best elements of a powerful drama,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “The series is stacked with suspense, heroism, high stakes and formidable characters our audience roots for. We look forward to another dynamic season.”

The news is not a surprise because it is the #1 entertainment show with African-American viewers.

I have a feeling that CBS’s Sundays will be The Equalizer, Tracker, and Matlock or NCIS: Hawaii.

Who is the lone holdout on a Living Single revival?
October 22nd, 2020 under Queen Latifah, The Real. [ Comments: none ]

Kim Coles was on The Real today, and the hosts asked her to get real about the prospect of will there ever being a Living Single revival?

Coles told them there is a lot of talk about it. However, there is one thing that is stopping them from moving forward. She said that the producer/creator, Yvette Lee Bowser, feels that “it is all or nothing.” That means, according to Coles, “unless everyone says yes, it won’t happen.”

Loni Love was paying attention to the actress’ words and wanted to know who was the person who is saying no. Coles wouldn’t say who or what sex they are, which means we have to guess who it is?

Is it Queen Latifah, Erika Alexander, T.C. Carson, John Henton, Kim Fields, and Mel Jackson? We know it is not Coles, so my money is on Queen Latifah. Then again, it could be Carson, who had issues with the writers, and that caused him to be fired from the sitcom. Who do you think it is?

Queen Latifah has what in her contract she won’t do?
December 2nd, 2016 under James Corden, Queen Latifah. [ Comments: none ]

While some celebrities have a no nudity clause in their contracts, Queen Latifah has no death one in hers. Why? She simply explained to James Corden on his Late Late Show that when she first started out, she was killed off in several of her movies. That means she can’t be in the sequel. Therefore, she told her agent to put in her contract she won’t die on camera.
I am surprised more actors like William Sadler and Samuel L Jackson don’t have that in their legal papers? Imagine how many more movies Jackson can be in because he is never in enough of them.
