Fran Drescher is the US’s latest Public Diplomacy Envoy
September 6th, 2008 under Politics. [ Comments: none ]

The State Department has hired Fran Dreshcer to be a Public Diplomacy Envoy.

Ms. Drescher will join Cal Ripken, Jr. and Michelle Kwan as Public Diplomacy Envoys. “The Nanny” star is a Golden Globe and Emmy nominee, cancer survivor and founder of non-profit organization the Cancer Schmancer Movement. She will support U.S. public diplomacy efforts, including working with health organizations and women’s groups to raise awareness of women’s health issues, cancer awareness and detection, and patient empowerment and advocacy. Ms. Drescher’s first trip in her new role will be in late September and include stops in Romania, Hungary, Kosovo and Poland.

I guess with her voice, she will be heard.

Who knew Matt Damon was so good at doing “voices”?
August 22nd, 2008 under Matt Damon, Politics. [ Comments: none ]

The ad features Matt Damon with different Americans’ voices – among them Michelle Obama, Cindy McCain and Mayor Bloomberg.
If you’re listening for them, Cindy says: “but there’s still more to do,” Michael says: “Democrats, Republicans, Independents,” and Michelle says: “who are coming together as ONE.”

You know I try to avoid politics on this blog, but this ad for ONE with Matt Damon doing more than ONE voice was too good not to share!

George W Bush sure loves Volleyball!
August 11th, 2008 under Politics. [ Comments: 1 ]

Those picture of George W Bush playing volleyball with the U.S. Women's Beach Volleyball were too funny not to post. I think that is the happiest I have seen him since he became President!

Political party at Kate Beckinsale’s
July 28th, 2008 under Kate Beckinsale, Politics. [ Comments: 1 ]

Hopefully Kate Beckinsale is throwing a political party and not a party for her daughter. Because if that is a party for a kid that would totally suck, unless she was using the Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton cut-outs for pin the tail on the donkey…you know because the Democratic Party's symbol is the donkey.
(There are no political overtones to this post, so don't read in to one that isn't there)
