Ryan Reynolds went on Antiques Roadshow
November 15th, 2021 under Netflix, PBS, Ryan Reynolds. [ Comments: none ]

I guess the prop people on Red Notice did not do a good job of searching Ryan Reynolds when he left the set because he was seen trying to check the value of one of Cleopatra’s three eggs on Antiques Roadshow.

While the actor was not smart enough to go to a private appraiser and not one on a PBS television show, he was knowledgeable enough not to use his real name. Instead, he used his character’s name, Nolan Booth. Because of that, no one is going to know it is him. I sure as heck didn’t know. Did you?

And where The Rock when you need him? If you saw Netflix’s biggest premiered movie, then you know. I just don’t want to spoil it for y’all because it is a must-watch film. So go watch it.

A few weeks ago, Apple TV+ announced that they acquired the Charlie Brown holiday specials from ABC. That means that the beloved Thanksgiving and Christmas episodes would not be seen on broadcast television anymore. Needless to say, people were crying good grief 2020.

Well, today PBS gave them some holiday cheer. That is because they will be airing the classic episodes commercial-free. The Thanksgiving one will air on November 22nd, and the Christmas one is coming to town on December 13th.

When it comes to Apple TV+, Turkey Day will start cooking on November 18th, and it will be available to stream for free on the 25 through the 27th. Then on December 4th, Christmas comes early with free viewings on the 11th through the 13th.

2020 has been a real bitch, but every now and again, she does something nice.

This is the man behind Barney’s purple suit!
June 12th, 2017 under PBS. [ Comments: none ]

Have you ever wondered what Barney looks like under that purple dinosaur suit? David Joyner has finally came clean to Business Insider that he is the man who played him from 1991-2001.

Believe it or not, he got his degree in electrical engineer technology and worked at Texas Instruments for 6 years as a software analysis before becoming a live mannequin. Joyner’s family is clairvoyant, and on the way to audition he knew he was going to get the role that changed his live forever.

What was it like wearing that suit? It weighs 70 lbs. and can get to over 120 degrees inside of it. To make matters worse, he was not able to see anything when Barney’s mouth was shut. In order to prep for that, he would go home and practice picking things up with his eyes closed.

What go through him all of that? Tantra and spreading love. Love that was easy to spread thanks to Barney’s infamous and addictive song.

What is he doing now? After several guest starring roles on shows like Shameless, ER and That ’70s Show, he is back to wearing another costume. This time he is Hip Hop Harry, a rapping bear that is delighting kids on YouTube.

I don’t know about you, but I am happy to finally see what Barney really looks like. It is also cool to see that he is so much like the character he played. As in happy and spreading love because I love you, you love me…

Get to know the Happy Hippy Painter Bob Ross!
April 20th, 2017 under Bob Ross, PBS. [ Comments: none ]

Get ready to paint some happy trees because Today I Found Out is helping us find out about Bob Ross. Even though he did 403 episodes of The Joy of Painting on PBS, we know very little about him.

He dropped out of high school at age 14 to work with his father in carpentry. He also accidentally lost the tip of his index finger while working with him and tried to hide it on his show.

Did you know the most peaceful guy on television was nicknamed Ball Buster in the Air Force and that he spent 20 years in the service?

How about he was never paid by PBS for any of episodes or that he never sold any of the paintings for it.

They are just a few of the cool facts in this amazing lesson which you love the Happy Hippy Painter even more than you already do.

Who is the biggest Diva that Josh Groban has worked with?
September 30th, 2015 under Josh Groban, PBS, Sesame Street/Muppets. [ Comments: none ]

Josh Groban has worked with many singers, who are known for being Divas, and he told PBS NewsHour who he thinks is the biggest one of them all. Is it Celine Dion? Barbra Streisand? Kelly Clarkson? Sting?
It is none of the above. As it was revealed yesterday on The Muppets he had a torrid affair with Miss Piggy. PBS Newshour asked him about their wild weekend and he said, “She is an icon. She can have her pick of any man and I guess I am honored for the short time we had together.” Then he added, “Kermit, as he does, got in the way.”
Before their short tryst, they sang a duet on her late night show. He described what it was like working with his now-ex as, “I’ve worked with a lot of performers in the past, she was definitely the biggest Diva I’ve worked with.”
Sounds like he is a little bitter, but you can’t blame him. Once you go Miss Piggy, you lose the desire to get jiggy. It’s no biggie. There’s still Kat Dennings who he can diggy.
