Heather Mills has caved in to pressure to relinquish her ‘Lady’ title and will revert to her maiden name after her divorce from Sir Paul McCartney is finalised.The decision is believed to be the first victory for Fiona Shackleton, Sir Paul’s lawyer, who famously won the concession from Princess Diana that she would drop her HRH title during her divorce from Prince Charles.Ms Mills, 38, told associates on Friday that she will give up any right to be called Lady McCartney because she views the title as ‘irrelevant’. A source close to her said: "She doesn’t need a title to bolster her ego. The title does not matter to her. It’s completely irrelevant to her life." The decision is the latest development in the increasingly acrimonious divorce battle between the pair. Ms Mills is believed to be seeking as much as £200million from her husband’s £800million fortune.

Sir Paul McCartney was at the centre of a health scare last night after he visited a top Harley Street doctor for a series of tests, including a heart check.The visit fuelled speculation that his divorce with estranged wife Heather is taking its toll on his health. The 64-year-old is said to be distressed about the effect the fall-out with Heather may have on their baby daughter Beatrice. It prompted fears he was suffering heart problems. Onlookers told the Daily Star Sir Paul looked ‘dreadful’ as he emerged from his chauffer-driven car. "I didn’t recognise him at first. He didn’t look like Paul McCartney – just an old man," said one. His face looked very grey and drawn and his hair had patches of grey as well – he’s obviously stopped using the dye. I couldn’t believe how rough he looked." A health centre source said he was given the all-clear following a blood pressure and heart rate check.

Dianna Karmal said the 38-year-old portrays herself as a loving, caring woman but in reality is a control freak driven by the trappings of fame and wealth.And she claimed that before vegetarian Heather met Sir Paul McCartney she used to eat meat and wear fur. The bitterness between Sir Paul and his estranged wife appeared to plunge to new depths after the ex-model found she could not enter the building with her usual key.fter a week of increasingly terse exchanges, 64-year-old Sir Paul had changed the locks on the front door of the former marital home in North London.A perplexed Miss Mills, 38, struggled for nearly five minutes to let herself in.An equally confused security guard inside failed to recognise her, decided she was a potential intruder and called the police.Heather was absolutely mortified,’ a source close to the couple – who have a two-year-old daughter Beatrice – told the Daily Mail last night.’As far as she was aware, there was a prearranged agreement with Paul that she would be coming up to London for the handover of Bea.’She doesn’t understand if Paul is trying to publicly humiliate her, or whether it was simply a genuine misunderstanding.’Fortunately the police recognised her straight away and the matter was resolved amicably.

The weekend saw another flurry of revelations that illustrates just how far relations between the warring couple have sunk. McCartney has frozen their joint bank account after allegedly discovering that his wife has withdrawn around £1million in one month. He also changed the locks on their London home.And in a sign of the pettiness now infecting proceedings, Paul is said to have instructed his solicitors to send Heather a legal letter after her nanny took three half-empty bottles of cleaning fluid from his Sussex farmhouse to clean Heather’s nearby office.’These past few weeks have been really tough on Paul, and although he initially wanted a "quickie" divorce, things have not gone according to plan,’ said a source close to the musician.He and Heather hardly talk any more. Paul feels that Heather is taking the mickey by coming round to his private estate whenever she feels like it and expecting to be treated by his staff as she was when they were married.’The climax of this past week, though, occurred when Paul froze his and Heather’s joint bank account. My favorite part of the story was she flew by his helicopter to get fitted for a new leg, and then when she was ready to return home Paul banned her from using the helicopter. I bet you the bitch expected him to pay for the leg too. You go Paul!
