TROUBLED Paul McCartney has launched a stinging attack on estranged wife Heather —branding her a traitor after she accused him of "abandoning" her. Until now the 64-year-old rock legend has stayed silent on the couple’s bitter divorce battle. But reports of Heather’s "lonely me" whining fired him to confess to friends: "I feel betrayed. All I ever did was love her. But now she wants to hurt me. This is very upsetting for me and my family." After News of the World revelations about Heather’s past as a hooker and porn star, the final straw for Sir Paul came this week—when she was pictured looking gaunt and claimed to pals: "I’ve never felt more alone in my life. It’s like I’ve been abandoned." And we can reveal that Heather, 38, rubbed salt in by branding pop idol Macca as past it—vowing in front of shocked staff that she’d "never date a pensioner again".But a source close to Macca told us: "How can she be abandoned?" Those pictures were taken of her all made up and swigging lager at a Madonna concert, for goodness sake!  "This was just her having another go at trying to make Paul look the bad guy. But how can he be? "As Paul says, all he ever did was love her and now she’s playing the victim. A pal of Macca confirmed: "He’s been round to see his daughter a few times this week. He waits till it’s late so he can do it quietly." The new house, known as Pandora’s Barn, cost £650,000 but Heather, who turned down a £30million quickie divorce, is still needled about it Ben told us: "She’s made no secret of it to her staff that she’s not happy with the place because it’s right on the corner of a busy lane and open to prying eyes. "For that sort of money they could have got somewhere tucked away with more privacy and better security. Heather feels Paul is responsible, and that in some way he bought it to wind her up. It’s been getting to her and she spends very little time there." Paul is upset, too. A worker on his Peasmarsh estate admitted: "He looks so low. He’s aged ten years all of a sudden. AT LAST, some good news has put the smile back on the face of our favourite wrinkly rocker. Amid his painful marriage break-up and fears that divorcing Heather will turn ugly, we hear Sir Paul McCartney is about to be a grandfather again. His fashion designer daughter Stella, 34, is expecting her second child early next year. Sir Paul, 64, whose hits include Day Tripper, has told friends: "I’m absolutely thrilled. It’s great to have something to celebrate at last. Stella’s made up and we can’t wait for the birth. It will make next year very special."A friend of Stella’s tells us: "She couldn’t wait to tell her dad. After everything he’s been through recently, she knew it would really cheer him up. She’s been talking to him a lot since his marriage broke down – they’ve grown closer than ever."The new baby will make Sir Paul a grandpa for the fourth time. Stella and her publisher husband Alasdhair Willis already have a 17-month-old son, Miller, and Macca’s other daughter Mary has two sons – Arthur, seven, and Elliot, three.

Pals say she is considering dropping the star’s surname and reverting to her maiden name Mills.That means she can no longer use the honour when the separation is formalised.Sir Paul, 64, was knighted in 1997 for services to music.His first wife Linda held the title of Lady McCartney until she died a year later.

Paul McCartney has made his share of classic music: Now the ex-Beatle is releasing a classical album.Ecce Cor Meum, which means "Behold My Heart," is a choral and orchestral work in both English and Latin, due out this fall. Britain’s Magdalen College Oxford commissioned McCartney to create the music more than eight years ago in celebration of a new concert hall.Though McCartney has released three other classically oriented albums, he acknowledged that writing Ecce Cor Meum was a difficult task that took revisions and public performances before he finally got it right. "Eventually I made it all come together through correcting some misapprehensions," McCartney said in a statement released to The Associated Press on Monday. "If it had been a Beatles song I would have known how to do it. But this was a completely different ball game."Ecce Cor Meum is to be released on Sept. 26.
