David Letterman sat down with Oprah Winfrey at his Alma Mater Ball State (that explains so much) and CBS This Morning spoke to Lady O herself. CBS News Special Correspondent spoke with the former Queen of Daytime and he asked her if she missed her show as much as the millions of people who have been mourning The Oprah Winfrey Show since it left the airwaves on May 25, 2011. She said, “I do not miss the show—I don’t miss the show. I thought about it for a very long time and I knew that it would be very important that when you let it go, you really can let it go.” I don’t think that all of those viewers who watched her religiously feel the same way, but at least they can still watch her on her OWN network!
I’ll tell you I can see her side on this because imagine how much pressure it must be to have people read the books, buy the gifts and do whatever else you tell them to do. I think has to be more scary than rewarding. Although I am not really sure because Oprah hasn’t told me how to feel about it.
Oprah Winfrey flew to Barbados (tough job but someone has to do it) to interview Rihanna and I think that Gayle King should watch out. Seriously doesn’t it look they have started a friendship for the ages?
Oprah Winfrey Tweeted a picture of herself with a lot of wig and said, “Me and my ‘girls’ in the makeup trailer.#theBUTLER” Why does she need so many wigs? Well she is playing the wife of a butler who served under 8 Presidents of the United States, and you can’t have the same hair for all of those decades. I mean it is not like she has had the same hairdo since we got to know her from The Oprah Winfrey Show and that was only 5 Presidents ago.
BTW I am getting a kick out her posting pictures like this on Twitter.
A few years ago Oprah Winfrey was so huge that she could get whoever she wanted to interview on her show just by calling them. And today to quote Meat Loaf “It was long ago and it was far away and it was so much better that it is today” for her. The former-Queen of Daytime seems to be so desperate to get people to watch her OWN network that she is going to appear on Keeping Up with The Kardashians. That’s right according to what a source told Us Weekly Oprah has already signed on to do the show. Two years ago, I don’t think she would ever have sunk to such a low. But that was then and this is now.
So today take a moment and mourn what you used to be the great Lady O. Televisions around the world have shed a tear because one of the mighty ones has fallen so low that even Neilsen Boxes can’t detect their former leader anymore.
Oprah Winfrey was on Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday and the two hosts showed videos of him pitching shows to her new network OWN. After seeing what he came up with, I am surprised she didn’t like his idea because I know I would watch Oprah After Dark and all the other ones. Seriously wouldn’t you tune into her network now?
