George Segal passed away today at the age of 87. “The family is devastated to announce that this morning George Segal passed away due to complications from bypass surgery,” his wife Sonia said in a statement.

Segal started acting in front of the camera in 1960, and he never stopped. Six years into his career, he received an Oscar nomination for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. From then on, he starred in movies and shows like The St. Valentine’s Day Massacre, Where’s Poppa, Fun with Dick and Jane, and the Look Who’s Talking franchise, Take Five, and Murphy’s Law.

However, his biggest roles came later on in life. In 1997, he landed the role of grumpy Jack Gallo in Just Shoot Me. Finally, in 2013, he was cast in his last role, one he played almost to the end. He starred as the lovable Pops on The Goldbergs. He was the type of grandfather that everyone wants to have as their own. That is why today, show creator Adam F. Goldberg said this about the man he cast to play his Pops, “Today we lost a legend. It was a true honor being a small part of George Segal’s amazing legacy. By pure fate, I ended up casting the perfect person to play Pops. Just like my grandfather, George was a kid at heart with a magical spark. I think these memories say it all…”

It is the perfect way to characterize the actor. Today, let’s keeps his magical spark alive by watching him in one of his many roles throughout his career.

He is survived by his wife Sonia and two daughters, Polly and Elizabeth, from his first marriage to Marion Sobel.

Dustin Diamond passed away today at the age of 44 after a very short battle with cancer.

His team released this statement, “We are saddened to confirm of Dustin Diamond’s passing on Monday, February 1st, 2021 due to carcinoma. He was diagnosed with this brutal, relentless form of malignant cancer only three weeks ago. In that time, it managed to spread rapidly throughout his system; the only mercy it exhibited was its sharp and swift execution. Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful.”

Diamond is best known for playing Screech on Saved By the Bell. Even though the role made him a household name, it also destroyed him. After the show ended, he had a hard time with life, including an arrest, bankruptcy, and a sex tape.

He appeared on several reality shows as the bad guy. It was an image they created for him, but it wasn’t him. He never got a chance to redeem himself. Hopefully, now he will get it.

Today, let’s remember his good times and watch him in the role that made us fall in love with the lovable nerd.

RIP Cloris Leachman
January 27th, 2021 under Cloris Leachman, Obits. [ Comments: none ]

Cloris Leachman passed away in her sleep at the age of 94, according to the AP.

Cloris Leachman was a beloved actress that was as zany as she seemed on the screen. That is why we loved her whether she was the judgmental Phyllis on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, the supportive Beverly Ann on The Facts of Life, or the bitchy grandmother on Malcolm in the Middle or Raising Hope. She had a way of making you laugh with her face as well as with the lines they gave her.

She was a beautiful woman, and that is why she competed in the Miss America pageant. However, she had no problem getting ugly for the role of Frau Blücher (neigh) in Young Frankenstein and many others.

Leachman did whatever it took to win the audience. Something that was very easy to do because she was such a lovable character on and off of the camera.

She was a special lady until the end of her life, and that is why she never stopped acting or talking risks. Risks like doing Dancing with the Stars at the age of 82 or stripping down in her 80s.

They truly broke the mold when they made her, and the World is a sadder place without her in it. While she might be gone, her work lives on. Today, let’s honor her by watching many of the things she did to make us fall in love with her.

Larry King passed away this morning at the age of 87 after being hospitalized with COVID-19 for a few weeks, according to his Twitter account.

King started his career in Miami doing radio. He then got a national talk show where he caught the eye of CNN. Therefore, in 1985 they gave him a show, and he stayed there for 25 years.

In that quarter of a century, he interviewed everyone from celebrities, World leaders, murderers, ordinary people, and historical figures. He had his own special way, would be a nice way to put it, of interviewing people. Because of that, you wanted to watch him and see what he would ask these people. You never knew what was going to come out of his mouth. Even knowing that, people still flocked to his show and to him.

In 2012, he started his company and created a new talk show on OraTV called Larry King Now. He continued interviewing people up until last year. Even after having a stroke in 2019 did not stop him.

In fact, in his 87 years, he beat several health issues, including heart surgery, cancer, diabetes, and many more ailments. However, it was COVID-19 that finally got him.

Today, remember him by watching his interviews. See how his style influenced so many.
