Niecy Nash won her first Emmy yesterday for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a limited or anthology series or movie for her work in Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
So how did she celebrate? The actress didn’t go to In-n-Out like other winners. Instead, she rented a hotel suite with an indoor pool and went skinny dipping with her wife, Jessica Betts.
Although, it doesn’t look like they did a lot of swimming.
It is her party, and she can do what she wants! And that is how I would want to do it!
For six months, ABC kept The Rookie: Feds and The Good Lawyer in limbo. But today, both shows learned their fate. And they will not be moving forward, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Rookie: Feds was the FBI spinoff of The Rookie and starred Niecy Nash. It was a really good show that just didn’t get the respect it needed from ABC. And that is why it was cancelled too soon.
Then there is The Good Lawyer, which was a spinoff of The Good Doctor. I just couldn’t get into the backdoor pilot because I am still not ready to forgive Felicity Huffman. That and do we need another show like The Good Doctor?
Niecy Nash is so successful that she found out she was nominated for her work on one show while working on a different series.
So yesterday, when she won a Critic Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series for Netflix’s Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, she has something to say to those who doubted her.
The award-winner told the audience, “To everybody who doubted this black woman and told me what I couldn’t do. I want to lovely and humbly say, ‘In your face! In your face!”
She showed them! Not only because she is an award-winner but also because she has never stopped working.
Congrats on her success! I can’t wait to see what she does when she is on a break from The Rookie: Feds because you know it is going to be great!
Niecy Nash got a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress – Television Limited Series/Motion Picture for Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story yesterday, and the cast and crew of her show threw her an impromptu party.
Not the Netflix one, but her ABC series. The Rookie: Feds applauded her nomination, and she started to cry. And that made the makeup artist tear up because they were going to have to reapply her mascara.
Back to Nash. If the cheering wasn’t enough, her co-star James Lesure danced with the nominee! And she was having the time of her life.
ABC announced today that they picked up The Rookie: Feds for additional episodes. The news is not a surprise because it is a darling series with a loveable cast and exciting storylines.
Hopefully, we will get more crossovers with The Rookie, like we did this week, as the season goes on. And next season, let’s hope ABC makes the smart decision to pair the two series together. It worked so well for Station 19; it is now doing better than Grey’s Anatomy.
If you haven’t seen the police procedural, you can watch it Tuesdays at 10p or on Hulu anytime.
