The simple reason Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie became friends again |

As we all know for years Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie were not talking. We never really found out what was the big rift between them was, although it was rumored that Nicole was jealous that Paris was asked to host SNL and she wasn't so to retaliate she threw a watch the Paris Hilton sex tape party…fun. Now that they are friends again and their show is coming back on the air, we are finding out how the two became friends again. So according to IOL what was the ever so exciting reason that these two Simple girls are friends again, Paris said in interview "It was Nicole's birthday and I really missed her and I just decided to pick up the phone and call her. We just got together that night and it was like there was never anything that happened. It was weird, like we had seen each other yesterday." Isn't that just ever so exciting? Don't you feel better just knowing that?

|  OK! Magazine has an exclusive interview with Nicole Richie where she addresses all the rumors about her. She will talk about her love life with Good Charlotte's Joel Madden, her renewed friendship with Paris Hilton, her drug use, but the one that really bothers her are the rumors about her weight. “I don’t care about any other rumor except the one that I have an eating disorder. That really bothers me because there are people who truly have eating disorders and it is a serious disease. To put that title on someone when it is not true is disrespectful.” It is just so hard not to question why she is so skinny, don't you think?

|  E! Online reports that Nicole Richie "fell ill" while filming Simple Life 5 yesterday. The set doctor looked at her and took her to a near-by hospital where she received intravenous for 15 minutes before she was was released. "Nicole is home resting and will return to work this evening," her rep said in a statement. "We are proud of the weight that Nicole is gaining and her focus on her health." I find it interesting that her publicist mentions that they are proud of the weight that she gained when she "fell ill" for "dehydration." Just makes me wonder if there is more to why she passed out? Although she does look like she has been putting on weight.

CHP hand the Nicole Richie investigation over to LA DA’s office |

| The California Highway Patrol turned its investigation into the Simple Life star’s DUI arrest over to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office Wednesday to determine whether Richie should be charged in the case. CHP officials would not disclose their recommendations in the case, but the fact that the D.A. is reviewing the case, as opposed to the city attorney’s office, suggests that the CHP is recommending Richie face a felony charge. A spokesperson for the D.A.’s office did not comment beyond acknowledging that the case had been received and was under review. There was no immediate word from Richie’s camp. Because Richie was previously convicted of drunken driving in 2002, a second conviction would mean a mandatory five-day jail sentence, as well as the loss of her license for one year, under California law. A tentative hearing in the matter has been scheduled for Feb. 7, assuming charges are in fact filed against her. Even if she faces charges, it’s unlikely to affect filming on the fifth installment of The Simple Life in Malibu; Richie and Paris Hilton are slated to resume filming this March. (The Simple Life airs on E! Entertainment Television; E! Online and E! Entertainment are divisions of E! Networks.) This time around, the duo reportedly will toil as counselors at such institutions as a fat camp, a beauty pageant camp and a couples camp, among others. Production on the series was halted in October while Richie sought treatment to determine why she was having difficulty gaining weight.

Nicole Richie charged with DUI |

| Surprising no one, Nicole Richie has been charged with driving under the influence. The misdemeanor charge stems from a Dec. 11 incident in which "The Simple Life" star was pulled over after driving the wrong way on the freeway. Apparently, Richie also had a prior misdemeanor DUI conviction in June 2003, which could affect the outcome of the current case. According to the California vehicle code, if a person is convicted of DUI twice within 10 years, that person can be sentenced to between 90 days and a year in jail, fined between $390 and $1,000, and have driving privileges suspended. Richie's arraignement is scheduled for Feb. 21 in Glendale Superior Court.
