A Very Murray Christmas is the holiday special you have been waiting for your whole life, you just didn’t know it until now. Thankfully, Netflix made it a reality and we can watch it every Christmas from now on.
The premise of the special is that Bill Murray is going to do a live Christmas show, but there is a really bad snow storm in NYC and no one is able to show up. Now he has to do show with no celebrities and he doesn’t want to do it with them. Luckily, he runs into Chris Rock and gets him to appear on the show even though he doesn’t want to do it either. Thankfully for both of them, the power goes out on the whole Eastern Seaboard and the show is cancelled.
But wait, does A Very Murray Christmas end there? No, since he is trapped in the hotel, he is going to explore it. Along the way, he will meet several of the employees, tourists and people having an event at The Carlyle Hotel. As he comes across them, they will sing Christmas Carols together and cheer will come to all with each song. It will be a Very Murray Christmas for all especially for Bill who gets so drunk he has a fantasy that includes Miley Cyrus and George Clooney because we all fantasize about them.
The cheerful special is directed by Sofia Coppola and stars Paul Shaffer, Amy Poehler, Julie White, Michael Cera, David Johansen, Maya Rudolph, Jason Schwartzman, Jenny Lewis and Rashida Jones. Almost all of them angelic voice that will bring a whole new enjoyment to several of those Christmas songs we have been singing our wholes live.
A Very Murray Christmas is not for kids, but us adults get to enjoy a Christmas special that is our own. We need more of them!

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp is as fun as camp!
August 1st, 2015 under Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLlMTn_Jzok
We know how Camp Firewood ended their summer in 1981, and now on Netflix we get to see how it all began in Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp.
Here’s some math to mess with you, it’s been 14 years since the movie came out and it then took place 20 years earlier. Does that makes sense? Now the series takes place 8 weeks earlier than the movie that came out 14 years ago, so that means that the Netflix comedy took place 33 years ago. So in short the actors are 14 years older playing 8 weeks younger than they were then. Confused? Who cares, just enjoy the series because none of the actors aged a day in all of this time.
David Wain and Michael Showalter, who created the series, had a lot of fun making the 8 30-minutes episode as wacky as possible. They gave our campers and counselors backstories that we had no idea about, and some of them more shocking than the others. Gene’s (Christopher Meloni) is by far the best. Actually, he has a great scene with Jon Hamm in an episode that is the series stealer. The best actor goes to Chris Pine, but I can’t tell you what his role is because that would spoil it. Lindsay (Elizabeth Banks) has the most shocking story how she wound up at Camp Firewood, but it makes sense by the end of it.
WHAS is campy, and I don’t want to say too much so that you can enjoy prequel. Enjoy you will do because each half hour is filled with a laugh a minute. Since this is only day one of their 8 week journey, that means this can go on for 56 more years. Seeing how much the cast enjoyed working on this series, I can see it going on that long. Just think at that rate many our counselors will be walking around with walkers or being wheeled around in wheelchairs. And by then Ken Marino’s balls will be hanging out of his jean shorts. Did I mention, he has aged the best out of all of his cast members?

Are you wet for Wet Hot American Summer?
July 2nd, 2015 under Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

In 29 days, the 8 part prequel to Wet Hot American Summer is going to debut on Netflix, and I am as excited for it as I was to go to summer camp back when I was kid. Even though the cast is 14 years older, they are supposed to be younger than they were in the cult classic. Which makes this movie even wackier and more perfect.
So how excited are you for the First Day of Camp on July 31st during this Wet Hot American Summer?

Holy sh!t, Orange is the New Black’s Lea DeLaria can totally sing!
June 17th, 2015 under Conan O'Brien, Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

The last time that Lea DeLaria was on Conan, she taught us all how Lesbians f*ck! Yesterday, when she was on, she taught us that she can really sing.
The TBS late night host heard that she has an cover album out of David Bowie’s songs reimagined in the style of Jazz, and he wanted to know more about it. So she asked him to be the baseline as she sang Bowie’s Fame. As soon as she belted out the first note, I was blown away by how beautiful her voice is. You’d just don’t expect to hear that coming out the Orange is the New Black star’s mouth. I don’t know what I expected, but it wasn’t that.
Now, I am spending my day listening to the music from her 5 Jazz albums. Her version of Patti Smith’s Dancing Barefoot and Chicago’s All That Jazz are true works of art and I am not really a Jazz fan; but I am just listening to her melodic voice. Just wow!

Miley Cyrus helped get Grace and Frankie a second season!
May 27th, 2015 under Miley Cyrus, Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

Grace and Frankie is about 2 70-something year old women who find out that not only are their husbands of 50+ years are partners in a law firm, they are also partners in the bedroom. You would think that the Netflix dramedy would not be something that would be on Miley Cyrus’ must binge list, but it is. So much so she Tweeted about it and shortly after she did, the show got picked up for a second season. Who knew Miley’s Tweets were that powerful, but they are.
The show’s executive producer confirmed the renewal and said, “Let me say, it’s so awesome to do a show on Netflix.” Then she added, “Because two and a half weeks after we launched, Miley Cyrus does a tweet about your show, and they call and say, ‘We’d like to do a season two.’ So yes, there is a season two. We have Ted and Miley to thank.”
I don’t care how this loveable show got a second season, as long as it did. So if you haven’t see the show that got Miley’s seal of approval, then check it out on Netflix now!
