Van Morrison is not a father again
December 31st, 2009 under Music. [ Comments: none ]

This weekend the internet was in a buzz that Van Morrison, 64 was a father again, turns out his site was hacked and he is not a new dad or will be one againe anytime soon. He told the Daily Mail, “‘Claims were made relating to my personal life in a ‘statement’ purporting to come from me,’ Morrison said. ‘The comments which appeared on my website did not come from me. They are completely and utterly without foundation. ‘For the avoidance of all doubt and in the interests of clarity, I am very happily married to Michelle Morrison with whom I have two wonderful children.'”
I love when slow news days can make old time rockers fathers again when they aren’t!

Twitter can be a matchmaker too!
November 12th, 2009 under Music. [ Comments: none ]

Twitter has saved lives, brought celebs and their fans together and now it being credited with creating a love match for Emmy Rossum and Counting Crows Adam Duritz. According to People it was a Tweet from the Counting Crows to Emmy that got the two lovers to meet.

“I was on tour with the band this summer. They invited me actually on Twitter,” Rossum said Thursday on the radio show Valentine in the Morning. “That’s how we met – on a dare. They dared me to come sing with them a song that I’d never sung before … So I ended up on tour with the band, and it was very, very fun.”

Crap if I would’ve known that I could meet my soul mate on Twitter, I wouldn’t have spent all that money on those dating sites.
Now back to Emmy and Adam, am I the only one kind of grossed out about their relationship because he is a year short of being twice her age?

Garth Brooks comes out of retirement!
October 15th, 2009 under Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Music. [ Comments: 1 ]

Garth Brooks is coming out of retirement to play several weeks in Vegas at the Wynn. The country superstar is rumored to be taking over the theater that was to be occupied by the late Danny Gans at the casino for 16 weeks in 2010 according to Robin Leach. Garth made a quick statement in Nashville that he was coming out of retirement, but did not go into much detail as he boarded a plane to Vegas. He will be holding a press conference in Sin City at 12n pst explaining it all and you can watch it on Garth Brooks.com. The show is expected to sell out quickly, so if you want tickets you better not hesitate.
Garth went into retirement back on October 26, 2000 to spend more time with his kids and his wife. I wonder if Trisha Yearwood will be opening for him?

UPDATE: Garth Brooks will be playing 15 dates starting December 11th at the Wynn Las Vegas and tickets go on sale on October 24th. All tickets are reasonable $125, seriously that is not a bad price to see him in Vegas. They will totally sell fast.

Brooks & Dunn are done
August 10th, 2009 under Music. [ Comments: none ]

Brooks & Dunn announced on their website that they will be done after next year.

After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have
agreed as a duo that it’s time call it a day. This ride has been
everything and more than we could ever have dreamed…. We owe it all
to you, the fans. If you hear rumors, don’t believe them, it’s just
time.

The duo will release #1’s and then some on September 8th and then next year they will do one more tour before saying goodbye to each other…for the time being. I will admit I don’t listen to them and don’t know their music, but I know their split is huge because they are some of the biggest country artists out there now.
