Garth Brooks is coming out of retirement to play several weeks in Vegas at the Wynn. The country superstar is rumored to be taking over the theater that was to be occupied by the late Danny Gans at the casino for 16 weeks in 2010 according to Robin Leach. Garth made a quick statement in Nashville that he was coming out of retirement, but did not go into much detail as he boarded a plane to Vegas. He will be holding a press conference in Sin City at 12n pst explaining it all and you can watch it on Garth Brooks.com. The show is expected to sell out quickly, so if you want tickets you better not hesitate.
Garth went into retirement back on October 26, 2000 to spend more time with his kids and his wife. I wonder if Trisha Yearwood will be opening for him?
UPDATE: Garth Brooks will be playing 15 dates starting December 11th at the Wynn Las Vegas and tickets go on sale on October 24th. All tickets are reasonable $125, seriously that is not a bad price to see him in Vegas. They will totally sell fast.
Brooks & Dunn announced on their website that they will be done after next year.
After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have
agreed as a duo that it’s time call it a day. This ride has been
everything and more than we could ever have dreamed…. We owe it all
to you, the fans. If you hear rumors, don’t believe them, it’s just
time.
The duo will release #1’s and then some on September 8th and then next year they will do one more tour before saying goodbye to each other…for the time being. I will admit I don’t listen to them and don’t know their music, but I know their split is huge because they are some of the biggest country artists out there now.

How awesome is that tracklisting for Now 31? Can you believe that they are up to 31?
Seriously these are the only CDs I look forward to buying the first day they come out! There are always at least two songs on each Now that I never heard before that I listened to on the CD that I fall in love with. So on June 30th run out and buy Now 31 and get a bunch of hits on one CD and if you don’t own any of the other Nows why not pick up one or two while you are there. BTW Now is also available for download on the 6/30!
Lady Gaga on that Rolling Stone cover looks more a picture from an ’80s p0rn VHS box than one on a music magazine. Seriously is there anything positive to say about it?
Remember the days when Eminem was groundbreaking? Well in his first video since coming out of retirement, he pokes fun at people that are so last year. Sarah Palin? And two of the couples in the video aren’t even dating anymore…Jennifer Aniston & John Mayer and Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson. That video so has sell out written all over it.
BTW it took me all day to figure out what song it sounds like the girls are singing in We Made You and I have narrowed it down to something from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Once More Feeling with episode. Am I right?
