Miley Cryus’ song The Climb was disqualified from the Grammy category song written for motion picture, television or other media because the song wasn’t written for Hannanh Montana: The Movie. The Recording Academy told Variety, “Walt Disney Records was proactive and forthcoming to our awards department and verified that the song was not written specifically for the film ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’ (as eligibility rules state). Based on this information, the Academy has complied with the label’s request. Per our process in this circumstance, the Academy has pulled up the next eligible song in this category.” The newly nominated song is All Is Love that was written for Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are.
What I want to know is how come the song actually got the nom even though it wasn’t written for the movie, didn’t the person who submitted it for contention check that out before they submitted it? I mean it is pretty easy to check, all you have to do is call the writers of the song and ask, “Did you write it for the movie?” But I guess sometimes the obvious isn’t always done.
Miley Cyrus is going to re-do the Poison classic Every Rose Has Its Thorn according to People. So how does Bret Michaels feel about it? He is way OK with it because he is in the studio working with her on it and rumor has it he is playing guitar on the track.
People added that Miley’s first concert, that wasn’t her father’s Billy Ray Cyrus, was Poison, so she has been a fan for while. But obviously after the song came out because she wasn’t born when it was a hit. Ouch!
BTW I chose the Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey version because ever since that most awesome movie I have not been able to listen to the song the same way again. Maybe Miley will change that…nah.
The trailer for Miley Cyrus’ first big screen movie that isn’t animated or Hannah Montana is finally out and I have to say I have no temptation to see Last Song. Normally I like films based on Nicholas Spark’s books, but there was nothing about that trailer that made me go when is this movie coming out. It has nothing to do with Miley Cyrus, it just looks really boring. What did you think?

Miley Cyrus and Kim Cattrall both attended the premiere for the movie Heart of the Desert in the same exact dress. Never heard of it? Of course you didn’t because it is a made up movie for Sex and the City 2 and that is a scene from the upcoming sequel.
So who wore it better? Considering there is almost a 40 year age difference between the two, it is pretty obvious who won!
Miley Cyrus wrote a song to explain why she suddenly quit Twitter, and now I realize what is the worst part about her quitting Twitter is…at least when she Tweeted we didn’t have to hear her.
BTW if I were a fan of hers I would think that rap was completely selfish, but I am not so I just found it cheesy.
