On June 30th, Bret Michaels pulled out of a Poison concert at the last minute. Instead of going on stage, he was rushed to the hospital.
There were many rumors about what happened to him, including an injury or COVID-19, but the singer hasn’t said what caused him to be hospitalized.
Today, Michaels explained why his continuing health issues are causing him to cancel his upcoming meet and greets for the foreseeable future.
“Everyday, I’m doing all I can to stay healthy and get on that stage, including IV’s and all meds including insulin,” Michaels wrote. “I’ve waited 2 years for this awesome tour but, under strict doctor’s advisement due to the combination of severe dehydration, diabetes, no rest and several other factors, I unfortunately will not be able to attend several of the upcoming meet & greets which I love doing, but I highly encourage you to meet the other guys, as they are awesome.”
Hopefully, the singer will be better soon because his fans deserve Nothin’ But A Good Time.
Poison was supposed to play with Joan Jett, Def Leppard, and Mötley Crüe tonight in Nashville, but they pulled out at the last minute because Bret Michaels was hospitalized.
There were rumors that the singer tested positive for COVID-19 or that he fell and injured himself.
After a few hours of silence, Michaels gave an update to his fans. “To the incredible fans in Nashville, thank you for all your well wishes!! I was truly fired up to get on stage in the Music City and perform, but due to an unforeseen medical complication & following hospitalization, it was not possible,” the 59-year-old wrote. “I send my deepest apologies for being unable to rock the stage tonight!!! I’m working on being back 100% very soon & hope you rocked hard with my friends Motley/Leppard, Joan and Classless Act!!!”
Michaels suffers from type-1 diabetes. Hopefully, he will get better soon and be back on the road with the other musicians on the ticket.
For as long as I can remember, Bret Michaels has worn a bandana on top of his head. Because of that, I have always wondered what the top of his head looks like. Is he bald? Is he not a natural blonde? Does he have a second head growing out of it? So many questions.
And finally, we have an answer because the singer of Poison shared the above photo yesterday. He is not bald. He is a natural blonde. And there is no second head.
So now I have a new question. Why does he cover it up? Things that make you go hmmmm.
The song Every Rose Has Its Thorn is such a perfect synonym for life that Bill and Ted used to gain entry into heaven. In the year 2020, the Poison tune has a whole new meaning. Bret Michaels played the hit with just a guitar from his house.
Listening to just him performing it with a six string makes the powerful song even more emotional. It just makes you contemplate everything.
I need to get got caught up in that emotion. Then when I am done, I will put on Nothin’ But A Good Time because that is exactly what I am going need after so much introspection.
Bret Michaels was forced to leave the stage yesterday because of a medical emergency during a concert in Manchester, NH and today they explained what happened on his website.
As previously announced, Entertainer Bret Michaels was physically forced to
leave the stage last night at the Palace Theater in Manchester, New
Hampshire due to complications involving insulin shock & severe low blood sugar, along with other conditions which doctors later determined included exhaustion/dehydration/fever and the noro flu virus. Michaels attempted to return to the stage to finish the show however it was clear to the band, crew, and audience that he would not be able to continue, as he walked of the stage and became violently Ill.
Paramedics present at the show immediately responded and 911 was notified. Unable to keep substance in his system complications with his insulin levels and inability to balance his blood sugar levels arose. Michaels was rushed by ambulance to CMC (Catholic Medical Center), and monitored through the evening as doctors tried to bring his blood sugar back to healthy levels.
Under strict medical direction Michaels will not be able to perform this evening in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania as doctors have ordered him to let the flu virus run it’s course and let his blood sugar rebalance and remain consistent. While hoping to perform tomorrow in Albany, type 1 diabetes complicates health issues such as the nora flu virus and must be monitored and taken very seriously.
Let’s hope the Poison singer is better soon and he doesn’t have the health issues like he had in 2010.
