Meryl Streep attended the premiere of The Iron Lady in London, and the 62 year old Oscar winner gets more and more beautiful the older she gets. They say women in Hollywood don’t age gracefully, but Mamma Mia I think she proves that sentiment wrong. She was always gorgeous, but with each year that passes she gets more stunning. Although when it comes to her acting, it remains just as incredible as when she first started out.

Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep were both tied for best actress as last night’s Critics’ Choice Movie Awards and at first every thought there was going to be a rumble between the two when Sandra came on the stage and called bulls!it. But then Sandra went up to her co-winner and gave her big wet kiss on the lips.
Due that kiss Hollywood is now fast tracking a movie called The Blind Julia, Sandra plays a rich woman who takes in the down and out of her luck, Meryl, helps her to become a world famous chef and the two women become lovers and share a kiss that is so passionate that the CCMA give them both the Best Actress Award for the second year in a row. Expect to see it theaters this December just in time to be nominated for next year’s award’s show.
BTW you go Sandra Bullock! Hopefully this is the start of her winning all the awards for her brilliant job in The Blind Side. Who else didn’t tear up during her acceptance speech. This accolade is long overdue for her!
Another winner I want to post is Inglourious Basterds for Best Acting Ensemble! I love that Quentin Tarantino had to direct his actors (Eli Roth, Diane Kruger, Christoph Waltz and BJ Novack) to go up their to accept their award. Plus I loved when Eli Roth said, “I never thought I would say this in my life, but ‘Thank you critics.'” Mazel Tov Eli!

Penelop Cruz can’t stop kissing Meryl Streep |

Penelope Cruz did an interview with Interview and in it she told them she can't stop kissing Meryl Streep according to the National Enquirer.
"We only know each other from seeing each other at awards ceremonies or those kinds of events, but whenever I see her, I always go up to her and start kissing her," La Cruz divulged.
"I don't even say anything – I just kiss her. She must think I'm some crazy person."
And Meryl's movies make Penelope nuts too.
"I watch her movies over and over again.
"I saw Silkwood again a couple of weeks ago and it made me just want to kiss her feet!"
Wouldn't it be hot if the two Oscar winners did a movie together where they played lesbian lovers? Sounds like Penelope wouldn't mind it. And I can't resist, but we can guess that Salma Hayek would.

Meryl Streep did not get the lead role in the 1976 version of King Kong because the director said she was too ugly according to IOL. The Italian director Dino de Laurentis not only made the mistake of not hiring the future multi-award winner, but for thinking she wasn't as smart as she looks.
Streep says, "He said to his son, who organised the meeting, "She's ugly. Why did you bring me this thing.'
"He didn't realise I'd just graduated and studied Italian 105."
"When I replied in Italian, he looked like he had been shot."
I think Meryl did OK for herself and losing out on the role didn't effect her career.
Just in case you forgot or wondering who got the role, that was Jessica Lange.

 "MOTHER Courage and Her Children," the new Shakespeare in the Park show with Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline, has opened at the Delacorte in Central Park, and theatergoers may need courage to sit through it. Tuesday night’s first preview of the weighty 1941 Bertolt Brecht play clocked in at a mind-numbing 3 1/2 hours, and nearly 100 people had left the 1,892-seat house by the end, one audience member told us. "Meryl is brilliant, but the play itself is boring, tortuous – it needs judicious cutting," our spy said. "A number of people left after 20 minutes. Many didn’t return after intermission and then, three hours in, during a long song by Kevin Kline, they were pouring out. Many were older, so they might want to retitle it ‘Flight of the Elderly.’ " Public Theater flack Arlene Kriv at first insisted to Page Six that not a single person had walked out of the play, which has a new translation by Pulitzer Prize winner Tony Kushner and is directed by George Wolfe. She later conceded there may have been a few defections, but said the play will not be cut: "The show is what it is – a long show."
