Little by little, television production is getting back to normal. Well, as normal as it can be during the coronavirus pandemic.
On Friday, the cast, including Mariska Hargitay and the producers of Law & Order: SVU, had their first table reason for the season. It was unlike any other they had ever done in 21 years because they did it on Zoom. However, their 22nd season is unlike any other one in television history.
Today, they went back to filming, and everyone looks different than they did six months ago. That is because they are all wearing masks. Another change is that they have to get tested every day. Not fun. But at least they are working.
Hopefully, they will all stay Corona-, so that we can get new episodes sooner rather than later.

Last season, NBC renewed This Is Us for three more seasons. This year, they did same for New Amsterdam. Today, they announced they want Law & Order: SVU, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Chicago Med all back for three more years too.
That will bring SVU to a total of 24 seasons. This year, it became television’s longest-running scripted drama series with 21 seasons. That is one more than the previous record holders Gunsmoke and Law & Order. Now, it is going for three more than that. It will be interesting to see if Mariska Hargitay will remain with the show. I hope she does because she is a HUGE part of that show. She is as beautiful on the outside as on the inside.
When it comes to the Chicago shows, Fire’s total will be 11, PD’s 10 and Med 8. That is a lot of seasons for the Dick Wolf shows.
On that note, he signed a five-year deal to stay with NBC Universal bring his today to 41 years. He has been with NBC longer than a lot of his actors have been alive. Pretty impressive and deserved.
Just one request. Can he stop doing crossovers with PD? I don’t watch that show, and I hate being forced to do it when there is one. The same way I don’t want to watch Grey’s Anatomy tonight, but I have to because they are doing a crossover with Station 19. Don’t these EPs and network execs know it is about me and not their shows.
Yesterday, Women In TV were honored at event and we got an epic photo out of it. Law & Order: SVU’s Olivia Benson posed with Wonder Woman, Cagney and Lacey’s Sgt. Christine Cagney and The Good Wife’s Alicia Florrick aka Mariska Hargitay, Lynda Carter, Sharon Gless and Julianna Margulies. If you throw in Queer As Folk’s Debbie Novotny and ER’s Carol Hathaway, they each represent some of television’s most bad ass actresses for every decade since the ’70s. That is beyond impressive just like their careers. Plus, they are all absolutely gorgeous besides all being phenomenally talented.
Before Mariska Hargitay was making smile every week on Law & Order: SVU, she told the host of Miss California that was her motivation. How absolutely gorgeous was the 20 year old in that 1983 pageant? Can you believe that she didn’t win and only came in 4th? Are they blind? Well, she is always a winner in our books!

Before Mariska Hargitay was being interviewed on talk shows for her work; her mom, the gorgeous Jayne Mansfield brought her along when she was on The Merv Griffin. Back in 1966, when she was just 2 and 1/2 years old, she knew how to work the camera. It is no surprise she became the star that she is today.
Seriously, is that not the most precious segment you have ever seen on late night television?
