Ron Howard, Marion Ross, Henry Winkler, Anson Williams and Donny Most got together yesterday to honor their Happy Days’ TV boss the late Garry Marshall at The Garry Marshall Theatre in Burbank.
Seeing them together again, makes me wonder why they don’t get another reunion special or a revival. Let’s see what they would be like at the turn of the century. Even though Tom Bosely and Erin Moran are no longer with us, they can still make it work. Who didn’t find heir thrills with their sitcom?
This weekend was The Hollywood Show and several members of the Happy Days cast reunited for the convention. There was Mrs. C, Ralph Malph, Potsie Weber, Chachi Arcola, Jenny Piccalo and Roger Phillips. Or as they go by today, Marion Ross, Donny Most, Anson Williams, Scott Baio, Cathy Silvers and show killer Ted McGinely.
Even though it has been 35 years since Happy Days ended, why can’t we get a revival? You can have it set at the turn of the century. They all look great, so why not! I am sure Henry Winkler would put on the leather jacket again to play The Fonz! I understand that not everyone can be in it, but maybe we can finally find out what happened to Chuck Cunningham.
Marion Ross, or as we know her as Mrs C, was on Today today to talk about her memoir My Days: Happy and Otherwise. In the book, she revealed some secrets about the show, and they wanted to talk to her to about it. But they did not want her to do it alone, so they brought on Anson Williams and Donny Most to surprise her. It has been 44 years since they became a family on TV, and they still act like one. To me, it is chemistry like that, which is why we are still talking about the show and watching it in syndication.
Back to the secrets. For the first few years of the show, the 89-year-old actress (Doesn’t she look amazing for her age?) and her TV husband, the late Tom Bosley, did not get along. She speculates that he wanted someone else to play her role and that is why he was resistant to her at first. As time went on, they grew to love each other like the couple we watch on our small screens.
She wasn’t the only one revealing behind the scenes secrets. Anson Williams shared with the host that they shot a pilot for the sitcom a year earlier and it did not go. Due to the success of the movie American Graffiti and Grease on Broadway, the network decided to give it a second go. There was only one problem, they were not sure if Williams and Ron Howard were too old to play their roles. Both actors had to re-audition for their roles as Potsie and Richie Cunningham respectively. As we know, they once again landed their parts.
What about Ralph Malph? Most says that his character was not in the original script. The actor says that he gave such a great audition for Potsie, they created Ralph Malph just for him.

via People On April 22nd, Erin Moran passed away from 4th stage cancer and yesterday her Happy Days co-stars got together to remember her at Cathy Silvers’ house. Jenny Piccollo had Joanie’s brother Richie aka Ron Howard, her crush Potsie aka Anson Williams, her mom Marion Ross, her friend Ralph Malph aka Donny Most and her husband Chachi aka Scott Baio over to celebrate their friends’ life.
Proving that this show has a bond that went above and beyond their filming days. They are still friends even though the show ended almost a third of a century ago. That chemistry is why we are still watching after all of these decades. Just like them, it never gets old.
This isn’t the first time that Silvers’ honored her friend, last week she had Bewitched’s Erin Murphy and The Brady Bunch’s Susan Olsen over to talk about the late actress.
These friendships show us just how special Erin Moran was to all of these people even after all of these years. She was as special to them as she was to us growing up and watching our favorite little sister grow up during Happy Days!
