Lifetime announced today that Drop Dead Diva will be back for a 13-episode fourth season. The news is not really a shocker, but what is a surprise is that waited until three days before the season finale to renew the show. They should’ve done it earlier.
And on that note what is Lifetime waiting for to announce that they are bring Dance Moms back for a season. They are probably as embarrassed to admit that they air the show, as we are to admit that we watch it. C’mon I am not the only one who loves this show, right?
Roseanne has a reality show called Roseanne’s Nuts on Lifetime that airs Wednesday at 9 and 9:30p, when her show ends Dance Moms begins. Well I guess the sitcom actress doesn’t like the show that follows hers because here is what she said about it on Twitter, “that fat ass bitch on dance moms thinks she is a roseanne connor type. bitch you can bully little kids and their fat ass moms, but hey, you wouldn’t last a second in a show down with old granny. I’d take you down in a heartbeat-u r fat, but u aint bad.” I really hope they battle it out because if they do and Roseanne won (which you know she will) then that would mean Dance Moms would be cancelled and I would no longer be excited to watch it every hump day. Seriously I feel so guilty because I can’t wait for the next episode to dance its way into my life every week.
If you have never seen Dance Moms, it is a horrible addictive television show that you don’t want to tell anyone you watch.
Abby Kowalski just got promoted to be a Detective after 4 years of being a Patrol Cop. You would think that her family would be happy for her, but you will see tonight at 9p on Lifetime she is Against the Wall. Her father and three brothers are Patrol Cops and Abby just became an Internal Affairs Detective because it was the only opening as a detective. Patrol Cops hate IA and Abby’s family is no different. She is going to have to win them over as she investigates their friends and colleagues. Will she be able to do it or will her booty call be the only loving she will be getting?
Luckily she has her mother played by Kathy Baker on her side and she is trying to get her husband played by Treat Williams to be proud of their daughter. But that task won’t be an easy one for the two women in the Kowalski family.
Abby is played Rachael Carpani and she reminds me of a young Meg Ryan. Watch the show tonight and every Sunday at 10p and tell me you don’t agree. And also how much you like the latest Lifetime drama.
Today in (my home state) NY, same sex couples were able to get married legally for the first time and tonight on Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva at 9p a girl will sue for the right to go to the prom with another girl. In this powerful episode that’s based on real life events. The episodes stars Constance McMillen, who was the teenager who sued her Mississippi high school to go the dance with her girlfriend. She is not alone in the special episode, along with her several other out actors will make an appearance throughout the show. Wanda Sykes, Amanda Bearse (Married…With Children), Lance Bass and Clay Aiken all took part in tonight’s show.
Clay spoke to several press members and told us he did this episode because it interested him. When the North Carolina native was asked if he thinks that homophobia is a problem in the South, he answered the question in an intellectual way. He said, “As someone who still lives here and, I man, I’m calling from Durham right now. I would argue that it may not be as much a regional issue as it is a national issue. I mean, obviously, no one would argue that there -you can argue that there are areas in the county where it might be a little bit easier, but I think that it is a national issue. It’s not necessarily just a southern thing. There are plenty of opportunities for us to say that, you know, homophobia exists in a certain religious environment more than it does in a secular environment. And while that may be true, it’s not necessarily the rule. I know plenty of Christians who are open-minded and equality loving and I know plenty of Southerners who are the same.” What he says is so true and hopefully an episode like this one will show us that discrimination like this needs to end not only in the South, but everywhere in the country.
On a lighter note, he also talked about going to his prom. He recalled, “I – did – oh God did I? I can’t even remember. You know what’s horribly sad, is that it’s been so long I can’t remember. I know I went to one of them. I’m pretty sure I went to either junior or senior, but I’m sure I went to the senior. But if you ask me who I went to – who I went with, I would honest to God not be able to tell you because I would not remember. Oh, no I do. Yes I did go. I do remember now. Oh, that took – that was a long process wasn’t it. I do remember, I remember going to my senior prom and I do remember who I took. Okay, we’re good.” He later admitted he went to the prom with a girl.
Teens should have the right to go to their senior dance with whomever they want, whether it is someone of the opposite sex or the same one. I know that Drop Dead Diva will do this topic right. So tune in to this powerful episode with an important message.
Tonight’s special Hef’s Runaway Bride on Lifetime at 10p was suppose to be a look at his wedding to Crystal Harris, but we all know how that turned out….it didn’t. Days before the wedding she walked out him and we were all left wondering what happened. We weren’t the only ones because as you will learn in the hour long special, the Playboy mogul also wasn’t sure why she became a runaway bride.
During the show you see the two of them planning their wedding and then they explain their doubts and what went so wrong. She explains that she didn’t mean to wait until she did, and shares why she made the choice that she did. What she says makes complete sense, but it is sad that she left Hefner broken hearted. Granted it is better that she did it before they tied the knot and didn’t wait until after they walked down the aisle.
The one hour special was surprisingly entertaining, so much so I was bummed that it was only an hour long. It explains a lot in the short time, but it was so well done with just over a month of preparation that you will wish it went long.
