As soon as I saw that Lifetime hired Loni Anderson, Morgan Fairchild, Linda Gray, Donna Mills, and Nicollette Sheridan for a Christmas movie, I assumed it was going to be the holiday movie of the year. And I was right.
Whoever thought that casting these five women to work in one film deserves a Nobel Prize. Well, at least an Emmy, because can you name a better cast?
So what is Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas, which debuts tonight at 8p, about? Back in the ’80s, they all worked together in Soap Opera Ladies of the Lake. Margaux (Fairchild) played the stepmother to the other four. Even though they all look the same age. But that is soaps for you.
Anyways, they are reuniting for a live finale of their beloved show. Since their Daytime Drama ended, they have gone their different ways and career paths. They are also returning for various reasons.
Lily (Anderson), Lauren (Gray), Dana (Mills), and Margaux are excited to be under the same roof again. They just wish Juliette (Sheridan) was there, but she has had a feud with one of her co-stars and won’t show up because of that. But then her son convinces her to do the Christmas special. So, what happens when she shows up?
The ladies all quit. But, then they decide to go forward with the finale for their producer, writer, and most importantly, friend, Alex (Travis Burns).
Alex was a child star who went to college with Nell (Taylor Ann Thompson). They were best friends who directed him in a movie in school. But then he suddenly dropped out, and she never heard from him again until he asked her to direct this event.
Even though they were BFFs, there is sexual chemistry between them. However, they won’t admit their feelings for each other. So the ladies bond to get them to finally become a couple.
So, between rehearsals and reminiscing, they are trying to make a love match. Can they do it? And more importantly, what happens when it is finally time to go live?
It is something you don’t want to miss! Actually, this whole movie is something you want to enjoy. So grab your eggnog and drink every time they make you smile. Be light on the brandy because you will be drunk by the end of the first hour.
Oh, and I just have to add that all five of the Divas are just as beautiful as they have always been.
On December 2nd, we are going to see Loni Anderson, Morgan Fairchild, Linda Gray, Donna Mills, and Nicollette Sheridan star in Lifetime’s Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas. And Christmas is coming 23 days early.
In Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas, five glamorous ’80s soap opera stars reunite to share the spotlight to shoot the final Christmas episode of their long-running soap opera. The producer, Alex (Travis Burns) and director Nell (Taylor Ann Thompson), old college friends, do their best to keep things on the rails but as the ladies come together, old rivalries resurface that threaten to tear the whole production apart. With the show nearly canceled before it even begins due to the ladies’ famous diva behavior, they reluctantly agree to set aside their differences and past secrets to “act” as if they all still love each other. When old sparks reignite between Alex and Nell, the ladies become eager to play cupid and conspire to bring the couple together. Along the way, the divas also discover that the love between them all is still very strong too.
Whoever did the casting for this movie deserves an Emmy because it is the best casting of the year. It is perfect! I can’t think of how they could have cast anyone better than these five Divas. Can you?
Christmas came early this year because Lifetime announced today that they are bringing some of the ’80s most beautiful divas together for a telemovie.
Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas stars Loni Anderson (WKRP in Cincinnati), Morgan Fairchild (Falcon Crest), Linda Gray (Dallas), Donna Mills (Knots Landing), and Nicollette Sheridan (Knots Landing and Dynasty).

Ladies of the ’80s will debut later this year. But since it is already filed, I hope it is soon rather than later because I can’t wait to see this film.
So many gorgeous women in one place, and not a single one of them looks any different than they did in the ’80s. They just keep getting better and better with age!
