https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYHJjCLIkfo Back in May, ABC cancelled Designated Survivor. Today, nearly 4 months later, Netflix announced that they elected the show for a third term, I mean season.
According to the press release, “President Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) will face a political reality. campaigning. What does it take to make a leader? What price will he be willing to pay? This season will explore today’s world of campaigning, smear tactics, debates, campaign finance and ‘fake news.’ Democracy, as we know it, will hang in the balance.”
The show will begin filming its 10 episodes later this year and air sometime in 2019. No word if the series’ other stars like Kal Penn and Italia Ricci will also be returning to the White House with Sutherland. Without them, it just will not be the same.
A big change that was already in the works is still happening behind-the-scenes. Neal Bear, who was the executive producer on Law & Order: SVU and Under the Dome, will take over as EP of this show. The doctor turned producer is someone whose politics I admire. Thus, I cannot wait to see what changes he brings to the political drama.
If you never saw the show on ABC, then you will be able to stream the first two seasons on Netflix.
UPDATE: Italia Ricci posted a cryptic message on Instagram about the show being saved from cancellation. She wrote, “Wait. What? 😏” Did they not tell her about the revival? Time will tell…
UPDATE 2: Kal Penn wrote, “I AM SO EXCITED THAT WE CAN FINALLY TALK ABOUT THIS! Season 3 baby! Thank you to all the fans. We love you guys.” Then he followed up with, “My mom is gonna be so relieved that I have a job for another few months.”
Back in May, Kiefer Sutherland’s show Designated Survivor was cancelled. Over the weekend, the actor and musician was seen playing his music on the streets of Cologne, so has he hard times and trying to make a buck any way he can? Nope, he was offering up free tickets to his concert if you could find him. Therefore, if you see him singing on the streets, then you might want to find out if he something for you. That and give him a dollar. He does not need it, but it would be a nice thing to do.
Kiefer Sutherland is on tour promoting his new album and he doesn’t sleep alone on the road. Instead he shares his bed with Rockin’ Rabbit and his friends. Even though we are used to seeing him as the tough guy on 24 and the cool headed President on Designated Survivor, I think it is nice to see the softer side of him. Look at that smile, don’t you just want to cuddle up with him just like he is spooning his furry friends.
Several actors have dabbled in music throughout the years like Kevin Bacon, Eddie Murphy, David Duchovny, Bruce Willis, Don Johnson and William Shatner to name a few, and now Kiefer Sutherland is trying his hand at it too. At 49, Jack Bauer decided to release his first album and maybe he should’ve waited a lot longer. Just because he played a Cowboy in Young Guns, doesn’t mean he can be a Country singer. But then again with his singing voice, I am not sure he can do any genre. Well maybe if it was really Heavy Metal because he sounds like an older woman who has been chain smoking nonstop since World War II. Even though the lyrics of his first single, Not Enough Whiskey, will also work for Metal, the melody does not.
The actor’s (I think we can agree he should not be called a singer just yet) album Down In A Hole does not have a release date as of yet. But he will be going on tour starting on April 14th if you want to see him perform live.

Over the weekend, Fox said that they are interested in another season of 24, but at this point they don’t know when.
It looks like Kiefer Sutherland needed to find a way to supplement that money he is losing by finding another job. What is his new occupation? Manny. That’s right, yesterday on The Late Late Show, it was revealed that Jack Bauer went from protecting America to babysitting Jim Gaffigan’s kids as the latter one hosted the CBS late night show.
Now that we know that Sutherland is a Nanny for Hire, I am going to borrow my friends’ kids so I can employee him to watch over them. I think we can all agree that is the real purpose for Nannycams!
