On April 19, 2016, Michael Strahan announced that he was leaving Live with Kelly and Michael to join Good Morning America. Now after a year and 12 days, the daytime talk show finally has a new co-host. Kelly Ripa announced today she will be sitting next to Ryan Seacrest every weekday on Live with Kelly and Ryan.
I don’t know how well that will work out because she likes it to be all about her and he is all about it being about him. Can they lower their egos just enough to let them both shine equally, or will he being saying, “Seacrest out,” when his contract is up. Something I am sure is already on ABC’s mind.
They already have him hosting New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, so they can give him do more shows on their network to front. There was a time when he wanted to bring back American Bandstand, so now is a great time to do it. Plus, since the Alphabet network is killing it with game shows, they can give him one to host like Strahan.
Talking about hosting, he will still be doing his iHeartRadio show. He was also continue to chat with celebrities on E!’s Live from the Red Carpet specials. Although, he might wind up doing double duty for the Oscars.
Now, I have to admit, I haven’t watched the show since it was Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, so this decision doesn’t really affect me. But I was rooting to Jerry O’Connell to get the job. He has the potential to be a great talk show host and someone needs to give him one already. Unlike Seacrest, he didn’t have a talk show that lasted only a season.
One last thing, Kelly Ripa started out as an actress, right? Because it didn’t show today when she was making the announcement. Boy was that acting awful.

I say hinted because she once teased a big announcement about her co-host before and it was just a contest for viewers to apply for the job.
I hope they finally announce the replacement because some of the fill ins have been great like Jerry O’Connell and Josh Groban and some have not been as good. Which means I am rooting for those two to get the job, but I am not sure they were selected. I have no idea who will be sitting next to her. Who do you want to get the title?
Kelly Ripa has a new word that she wants to share with the world and yesterday she revealed it on Live with Kelly. What is the word? It is Vagagony. What does it mean? She says, “It is the agony you feel in your nether region after spin class.” The more you know!
Although ladies, I think we can all agree we can use that word for so many other scenarios.
Michael Weatherly co-hosted Live with Kelly today; and during a commercial break, the Bull star shared a story about the word that follows his show’s title. A 💩 story!
Back when he was 12 years old he went to sleep away camp, and for the first 6 days while he was there he didn’t make #2. Then one day they went on an overnight hike in nature and nature called. As he explained, “All of sudden, I was leaning over looking to see if it was a salamander was sunbathing or something. And I knew I had about 6 seconds before I was going to give birth to my own little love child.” What did he do? He “ripped his pants down, in front of the entire camp,” and he “uncoiled what looked like 18 foot boa constrictor.”
Where is Mark Harmon when you need him to smack DiNozzo in the back of the head when you really need him to? Seriously though, that is a great story that we can all relate to. Unlike him, we just don’t share it with strangers.
