Josh Groban was on The Late Late Show yesterday and James Corden asked him to sing songs with him. Only problem is CBS didn’t want to pay for him to sing any of those song we know and like because Jim Parsons gets all of their money. So what will they do? They sang songs from Public Domain which cost nothing. Even though they performed Baa Baa Black Sheep, Frère Jacques, Muffin Man and This Old Man, they were able to raise up the classic tunes to a whole new level. Because what can’t Josh Groban do with voice and music?
Someday when he has kids, they are going to be really lucky when their dad sings nursery rhymes to them. Crap, can I hire him to sing me to sleep?
Earlier this year, Josh Groban released an album of several Broadway covers and next year he is finally going to the take the Broadway stage. According to The New York Times he will be starring in Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812, a musical adaptation of War & Peace, in September. He told the newspaper why he chose this play, “For a first time doing it, I wanted it to be something that was a little less expected, and I wanted it to be a show and a character that forced me to get a little bit out of my comfort zone and do something that people haven’t seen before.” The he added, “To have the opportunity and freedom to take off the hat of ‘me,’ and to dive into a character, is something I think will be very freeing, and very fun.”
Personally, I wish he was doing Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors because I think that would be his ideal role, but I am excited to see him finally join the greats on the Great White Way in this production.
Josh Groban has worked with many singers, who are known for being Divas, and he told PBS NewsHour who he thinks is the biggest one of them all. Is it Celine Dion? Barbra Streisand? Kelly Clarkson? Sting?
It is none of the above. As it was revealed yesterday on The Muppets he had a torrid affair with Miss Piggy. PBS Newshour asked him about their wild weekend and he said, “She is an icon. She can have her pick of any man and I guess I am honored for the short time we had together.” Then he added, “Kermit, as he does, got in the way.”
Before their short tryst, they sang a duet on her late night show. He described what it was like working with his now-ex as, “I’ve worked with a lot of performers in the past, she was definitely the biggest Diva I’ve worked with.”
Sounds like he is a little bitter, but you can’t blame him. Once you go Miss Piggy, you lose the desire to get jiggy. It’s no biggie. There’s still Kat Dennings who he can diggy.

Last week, we found out on The Muppets that Kermit and Miss Piggy broke up and tonight at 8p he tries to fix her up with another man.
The Muppets have a color code system to warn each other about what type of mood Miss Piggy is in. Code Green means they are safe, Code Yellow mean be cautious and Code Red means run and hide. Well the time has come when the host of Up Late with Miss Piggy is at Code Red and no one is safe. Kermit comes up with a way to diffuse that bomb and that is to set her up on a date. After the first few choices don’t pan out, they decide to book Josh Groban on the show.
Piggy and him sing the duet If I Loved You, a cover off his album Stages, and they instantly fall in love. Now she is at Code Green and everyone is happy.
But…that won’t last. Groban has a few suggestions for the show. Actually more than a few and it is starting to ruin Up Late. What to do? Is happy Miss Piggy worth destroying the show? It is a tough decision, what will Kermit do?
The show isn’t only about Miss Piggy, Kermit and Josh Groban tonight, Fozzie the Bear gets to party with his idol. While he is at Jay Leno’s house, he steals a memento. It looks like he got away with it, until Leno calls him over to his house to talk to him about something. What does he want? You just have to tune in to find out in another hilarious episode of a show that makes you feel like a kid, even though it is for adults and you supposedly are one.
Oh and the best part of tonight’s episode is Laurence Fishburne who will have you hysterically laughing like the Swedish Chef. We need more of him on The Muppets.
Everyone was heartbroken when they found out that Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog broke up. Then to break our hearts even more, both of them moved on. Kermit is dating another pig named Denise (even though he says they are “just friends”) and she might be dating Josh Groban according to Entertainment Weekly. The singer and her started out as friends, and then things really started bacon, I mean, baking, for them! Now their oinkdorable love affair is coming to her ABC show The Muppets and all will be revealed in an upcoming episode.
Groban proves if you use your Pure Imagination, anything can happen. Anything like being cast as a love interest for Miss Piggy! Does it get any better than that for an actor?
The Muppets debuts on ABC, September 22nd at 8p.
UPDATE 1: Josh Groban’s other girlfriend, who is a cat, I mean Kat, purrfectly responded to her boyfriend’s new love interest on Twitter. Kat Dennings Tweeted, “I’m dating Kermit now so that’s cool.”
UPDATE 2: Josh Groban’s episode of The Muppets will air on September 29th. Here is a description from ABC, “Hostile Makeover – In an attempt to make Miss Piggy happy, Kermit sets her upwith Josh Groban who fills her head with ideas on how to make Up Late with Miss Piggybetter.”
