Last season, Bridgerton was all about Daphne Bridgerton finding love. On March 25th, it is all about her brother, Lord Anthony Bridgerton, doing the same. Will he find love just like his sister? It looks like from the trailer that he finds it and then some on the Netflix RomDran.

Or, as Netflix puts it, the second season of Bridgerton follows Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), the eldest Bridgerton sibling and Viscount, as he sets out to find a suitable wife. Driven by his duty to uphold the family name, Anthony’s search for a debutante who meets his impossible standards seems ill-fated until Kate (Simone Ashley) and her younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) Sharma arrive from India. When Anthony begins to court Edwina, Kate discovers the true nature of his intentions — a true love match is not high on his priority list — and decides to do everything in her power to stop the union. But in doing so, Kate and Anthony’s verbal sparring matches only bring them closer together, complicating matters on both sides. Across Grosvenor Square, the Featheringtons must welcome the newest heir to their estate while Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) continues to navigate the ton whilst keeping her deepest secret from the people closest to her.

Bridgerton just broke our hearts
April 2nd, 2021 under Jonathan Bailey, Netflix, Regé-Jean Page, Shonda Rhimes. [ Comments: none ]

There were three reasons to watch Bridgerton; the story, the sex scenes with the Duke of Hastings, and Regé-Jean Page, who played him. Well, today, Netflix got rid of two of those reasons. That is because they announced that Page will not be returning for the second season.

Lady Whistledown’s SOCIETY PAPERS

Dearest Readers,

While all eyes turn to Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s quest to find a Viscountess, we bid adieu to Rege-Jean Page, who so triumphantly played the Duke of Hastings. We’ll miss Simon’s presence onscreen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgerton family. Daphne will remain a devoted wife and sister, helping her brother navigate the upcoming social season and what it has to offer — more intrigue and romance than my readers may be able to bear.
Yours Truly, Lady Whistledown

No offense to Jonathan Bailey, who plays Anthony Bridgerton, your sex scenes were nice, but they were not naughty like Page’s. Therefore, you should spend some time working on it if you want us to watch season two.

Why does Shonda Rhimes always get rid of the good-looking, sexy ones?

UPDATE: Regé-Jean Page responded to the news, “Pleasure and a privilege! An honour to be a member of the family – on and off screen, cast, crew and incredible fans – the love is real and will just keep growing ❤️💫”

At least he got to host Saturday Night Live because of this role.
