July 1st, 2016 under Jon Cryer, NASA, Travel Channel. [ Comments: none ]

When Jon Cryer was a teenager, he went to the Bronx High School of Science. Therefore, you can assume that he loves Space, and you would be right. The 51 year old is going to live his boyhood dream tonight at 11p on Travel Channel’s Celebrity Travel Club.
He will travel the Country and the World to visit different Space Centers and talk to several Astronauts. His first stop is NASA headquarters in DC where he will talk to the Head Astronaut.
From there his will travel to Houston where he will stay in the Houston We Have a Problem Room at a hotel. It is so out of this world awesome, I want to book a stay there. Once he gets a good night’s sleep, it is time for him to visit the Johnson Space Center. He will get a tour of the facility including an actual size model of the International Space Station, put on a real Spacesuit, sit in a capsule that transports Astronauts to the ISS and get a work out like they do up there. The coolest part is watching the grueling task of him putting on the Spacesuit which includes him putting on his own diaper.
Now it is time for his next stop, he travels to Star City, Russia to visit the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center. There he will go through Cosmonaut training. Before you can enter the centrifuge, you need to get a physical exam. Once he enters the centrifuge, you will see why. I got dizzy just watching him. The way he describes it, makes it seem worse than what we saw. After going around and around, you wouldn’t think he would want to eat; but when he gets to experince how they eat on the ISS, he makes room. You might not want to eat after they describe how much they recycle what you eat and drink in Space. After you eat, we all want to feel lighter. Now, it is time for him to get to experience weightlessness in a Spacesuit.
After that, there is nothing left but for him to soak up all he has been through. It is an Adventure that all of us wish we can experience. But since we can’t, it is really cool to see it experiences through his eyes. Not only is interesting to watch, it is educational. A lot goes into the training of being an Astronaut and it is so cool to see just a little sample of it on this exciting show.
In the coming weeks, Terry Crews travels to Detroit for the rebirth of Motor City and Eric Stonestreet looks into World War II espionage. I can’t wait to go on that Adventure with them starting tonight at 11p with Cryer’s.

Jon Cryer shows off his sexy legs!
December 28th, 2015 under Jon Cryer. [ Comments: none ]

Jon Cryer is a big fan of the NY Giants. So much so, he got tons of their apparel for Christmas. Since he loved all of his presents, he modeled them for us. But I didn’t notice any of them, all I noticed was his legs and how they look nothing like a Duckies. Seriously sexy, don’t you agree?

Jon Cryer recreates his Duckie dance!
April 15th, 2015 under James Corden, Jon Cryer. [ Comments: none ]

Jon Cryer was on The Late Late Show yesterday to promote his memoir So That Happened, and he recreated his infamous dance scene from Pretty in Pink. In fact, he even recreated his Duckie look from his head to his toes. The number was pretty in every color of the spectrum and I enjoyed him.
What I didn’t enjoy was James Corden. Why? Why? Why do these late night hosts think they need to be the star of every bit? Why can’t they let the star be the star? Why couldn’t Corden taken a back seat and be the Molly Ringwald or Annie Potts in it? Why did he have to be Duckie when Duckie is already there? It took away from a great moment and crapped all over it. This isn’t the first time that Corden pissed me off, but this is the first time I am letting my voice be heard about it. I find him annoying and unlikable because he tries too hard. He’s like that smelly ugly dog that wants you to please please please take him home, but just want him to go away. I know it’s Corden show, but that doesn’t mean he has to be the star in everything. The true stars on the show are the stars! In fact, the more Corden tries, the harder it is for me to believe he truly was an actor before he was hosting TV shows. He doesn’t seem to have any talent. He’s like community theater as compared to all these other people on his show. Seriously, I really find it hard to believe he has a Tony on his mantel because he doesn’t impress me.
I feel for Stephen Colbert because they are going to be an awful fit together. I hope that they will remain separate entities when Colbert’s show debuts in September. You know what, Colbert and Seth Meyers, and Jimmy Fallon and Corden are better paired with each other than how they are currently paired. Don’t you agree since Corden is basically the British version of Fallon?
Since I can’t offer Corden any Tenderness, I will offer you some. Below is the original dance scene from Pretty In Pink!

Jon Cryer can’t act out his own movie!
April 7th, 2015 under Jimmy Fallon, Jon Cryer. [ Comments: none ]

Yesterday on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon and Kat Dennings played a game of charades with Michael Douglas and Jon Cryer and things got interesting when Duckie got his own movie. That’s right, the Two and a Half Men star got Pretty in Pink. You’d think it be easy for him to act out his most famous film and you’d be wrong. He tried, but the Wall Street star just couldn’t get it. His opponents knew what he was doing, but not his partner. That makes you wonder what was Douglas doing in the ’80s or should I say who wasn’t he doing when that movie came out?

Did a birthday wish from Jon Cryer keep Two and a Half Men on for 12 years?
February 19th, 2015 under Chuck Lorre, Jon Cryer. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 9p on CBS, it is time to say goodbye to Two and a Half Men. Jon Cryer has been there since day one, and I recently spoke to him, at the Warner Bros. TCA Event honoring the show’s creator Chuck Lorre, about his time on the show. In the 12 years since the show started, both Jon Cryer and Alan Harper have been through a lot. While things have not been that good for the latter, Cryer talked about the good things that happened to him since he made a little wish.
Before he started working on Two and a Half Men, Cryer never had a show go to a second season. So I wanted to know what it was like when he heard the show got picked up for season two. He said, “A massive relief!” Then he shared a story, “We shot the pilot and it happened to fall on my birthday, April 16th. They brought out a massive sheet cake and I jokingly said when I blew out the candles, ‘I wish in 10 years we are all still here.” Then he added, “I was mostly right.”
Just like that change of casting was a surprise, he has this to say about the show, “I never knew where this was going to go and it surprised me. It was a wonderful surprise the whole way.” Talking about surprises, did you know there was a time they were thinking of making Alan Harper gay because his character screwed up all of the heterosexual relationships? As we know that didn’t happen. Even though that didn’t happen, they did give Alan a heart attack and a nervous breakdown instead.
Sounds like a lot of emotional pain for his character to go through, but what about all the physical torture that they put Alan through. Has he ever been hurt? He said, “No I haven’t been hurt. We’ve lit my crotch on fire, I fell off the roof, I did that stuff.” So how did he escape ever being injured? He says that they have a fantastic stunt coordinator, Eddie Braun. Why does he do his own stunts? He explained, “I do it because a lot of the time, part of the comedy, is you have to see that it’s that guy (that’s getting hurt).” Then he added, “Every now and again there’s stuff that’s just too crazy (for me to do).”
Cryer made a crazy revelation midway through the show’s run. Two and a Half men has been 12 years of his life, which is a lot for anybody, and people go through changes in that amount of time. He shared with us a moment during the 6th or 7th season, “Charlie (Sheen), Chuck (Lorre), Lee (Aransohn) and I were all standing around having a conference about some issue with the show that week. And I looked at all of us, and said, ‘All of us were married to different people when we started this show.’” Then he added, “We went through a lot of living during the course of this thing.”
So after giving this show a dozen years of his life, what is he going to miss and what won’t he? He is going to miss coming to work with all of these “lovely people” that includes the actors and the crew. What he’s not going to miss, is being comedically nude so often.
While Alan was nude or his tighty whities a lot through the show’s run, there was one outfit he wore this season that I had to know more about. One of the great things that happened for us longtime of fans of Jon Cryer was to see him dressed as Duckie again. I needed to know what that was like for him. He said, “That was terrifying.” The reason why he felt that way, was to him, “There is nothing sadder than an old desiccated version of a teenager.” So what convinced him to do it, “We put it on and it was a very iffy moment. We took a bunch of Polaroids and we decided we can get away with this.” Get away with it they did and so much more. I think he looked the same and as when he played the loveable character back in 1986, if not better.
While I have that to take away from the show (among many other laughs and memories), what is one of his biggest takeaways from he got from being on one of the longest running sitcoms to ever air on television. One of things he wanted from his Hollywood career is that someday the guards would know him when he drove onto the lot. They got know him and yet they still gave him crap when he forgot his pass.
While he might’ve forgotten to bring his pass a few times, we will never forget what he brought to Two and a Half Men as Alan Harper.
Thank you for all of the laughs throughout the years, Jon Cryer. Not only just for Alan Harper, but also for your many many many other roles. You are part of Hollywood history and it has been nice to see how you have become a staple on it.
While we are saying goodbye to Alan Harper tonight, we will soon be saying hello to his next memorable character.
