Jodie Foster and Sofia Vergara were up for the same category at the Golden Globes, but only one of them could win the Best Actress in a Miniseries or Motion Picture—Television award. And the winner was Jodie Foster, who brought home her fifth statuette for her work on True Detective.
As Foster was walking up to accept her award, Vergara screamed out, “No! No!” Foster responded with, “I know! I know!”
But Vergara wasn’t done. She then yelled, “Give me one!”
And with that, Foster started her speech, “…The greatest thing about being this age and being in this time is having a community of all these people. Especially you, Sofia.”
Many people are saying that Vergara was joking, but I don’t think she was. I think she was seriously upset that she lost again to the two-time Oscar winner (Vergara also lost to Foster at the Emmys), which is why she took away from Foster’s moment.
And how fucked up is that? It was about Foster, not Vergara, but the Modern Family star made it all about her.
On that note, why are so many of the Modern Family cast so cocky? To be honest, it wasn’t that good of a show. And that is why it is now mostly forgotten and not another Friends or Seinfeld. It is also probably why the two I am thinking of most are spending most of their time doing reality shows and commercials now and not acting in scripted works.
Before Jodie Foster was tough enough to take on Hannibal in Silence of Lambs, she was doing it in The Courtship of Eddie’s Father. How awwwdorable was the 6-year-old in that 1969 episode?
Before everyone thought that Jodie Foster was lying in The Accused, she lied in Kung Fu. She gave award-winning performances even at 10 years old in that 1972 episode.
Several men have had their own comic book superhero movies over the last few years, but when are the women going to get their own film already? Looks like Batgirl is finally going to her shot and Conan O’Brien got his hands on their audition tapes.
Two-time Oscar winners Jodie Foster and Hilary Swank think they both have the right stuff, but so does Wanda Sykes. Kristen Schaal has her own a secret weapon, her beautiful baby daughter. Tig Notaro shows she has a greater range than all of off those actresses but will it be enough?
Only time will tell who will get the role of a lifetime, but my money is on Halle Berry who did not audition. It is not like she has ever done a career-killing DC Universe superhero movie? Or did she have that purrfect opportunity before?
