Who knew Roman Numerals would stump Jeopardy contestants?
May 2nd, 2018 under Game Shows, Jeopardy. [ Comments: none ]

Alex Trebek asked the contestants on Jeopardy, “Translated from Roman Numerals, 55 appears in luggage, watch and product names from a company founded by this man.” You would think that Final Jeopardy answer would be super easy because L is 50 and V is 5. Therefore LV stands for Louis Vuitton.

Not one of them got it right. They all guessed Versace, even though there is no G Roman Numeral. But I got it right because I is smart! Granted that was the only question I got correct during the whole episode, but I got it right!

RuPaul proves that Jeopardy is not a drag!
April 24th, 2018 under Game Shows, Jeopardy. [ Comments: none ]

Jeopardy has been using more stars to ask the answers on Jeopardy and yesterday RuPaul was the Alex Trebek for a category. That category was A RuView of Movies. She asked the contestants about movies where the actors infamously crossdressed in them and they did pretty well with the category.

So did I and now I must watch The Bird Cage again because I love the movie! How many times can I say I in a sentence? I don’t know, a lot!

Jeopardy can even make movie questions hard
April 19th, 2018 under Game Shows, Jeopardy. [ Comments: none ]

I do not know about you, but I suck at Jeopardy. Because of that, I get excited when they do categories about entertainment. When they do, I think I might have a chance. I don’t.

Case in point, try doing this category “Shot First.” They gave the contestants 3 movies and they had to say which one came first. If it were last, I would have gotten $3,000 dollars. Instead, I don’t want to talk about it. How did it you?

Yesterday on Jeopardy they had a whole category dedicated to Reese Witherspoon movies on the popular game show?

How did the contestants do? Only one person got all 5 answers right. How did you do? I got 4 out 5 and I am extremely embarrassed.

What is Willy Wonka’s Mike Teevee on Jeopardy?
March 15th, 2018 under 70s, Game Show Network, Jeopardy. [ Comments: 1 ]

On Tuesday, Paris Themmen was on Jeopardy and he was the biggest question of the night. While his name might not sound familiar to you, most of us grew up with him. Back when he was several inches shorter and he had a little more hair on his head.

Back then, he was also obsessed about being on television, and a golden ticket was going to make his dream come true. Boy was he thrilled to pieces about it. You get where I am going with this? Themmen was in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and he played Mike Teevee the only American who got the golden ticket in beloved film.

Fast forward to this week and him being on the game show. Unless you are wannabe contestant who knows everything about ’70s movies or you follow Themmen on Twitter, you were never going to know he was on the show. Neither he nor Alex Trebeck mentioned his past. Which seems odd because you think that would be the first thing they would bring up. Unless they did not know?

Either way it is so cool to see Mike Teevee all grown up and on TV. Now that I know he lives in the same city as me, I am going to be on the look out for him because Willy Wonka is one of my all-time favorite movies.

When it comes to how he did? The Oompa Loompas came to get him and sang, “Oompa loompa doompety doo, I’ve got another puzzle for you, Oompa loompa doompeda dee, If you are wise you’ll listen to me, What do you get when you’re on TV, You get a second place finish, and sixty-eight hundred to take home.” And then he turned into a bunch of particles never to be seen again until the movie’s 50th anniversary in 2021.
