Halloween comes early with a huge treat from The Simpsons!
October 6th, 2013 under Halloween, The Simpsons. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 8p The Simpsons celebrates its 24th Treehouse of Horrors on Fox and they are doing something they have never done before. After nearly 25 years of keeping the couch gag in-house, tonight they farming out to someone you might have heard of, his name is Guillermo del Toro. Recently I was on a conference call with shows runner Al Jean and he explained why they went with this horror legend. He said, “Guillermo del Toro, who is, I would say – and I’ve met some people who like scary things – he is the greatest expert on horror movies, etc., that I have ever encountered. There are so many references in that opening that he put in. It’s really brilliant.” Even though you can watch the brilliant opening above, it is so much better to watch on your big screen HD television.
Now the opening is only 3 minutes of tonight’s episode, so that means there is so much more. They do their own version of a Doctor Seuss tale that will have you laughing at the little digs within the story. Then Bart and Lisa are the closest they have ever been, but how long will that last? Finally we know it is a freak that the animated show is turning a quarter of a century old this year, so it makes sense that the last horror story involves The Simpsons being part of a freak show.
Every year The Simpson’s Treehouse of Horror is my favorite episode of the season and tonight’s might be one of my all-time favorites of the show’s very very very long run.

Babies are sick of you dressing them up for Halloween
November 6th, 2012 under Halloween, Jimmy Kimmel. [ Comments: none ]

We all know babies can’t talk, unless they are in Look Who’s Talking, Baby Geniuses or cartoons, buy yet they found a way to let the world know how they feel about a certain thing. The infants of the world are biting mad that their parents are dressing them up in ridiculous costumes for Halloween just because they think it is awwwdorable. So they released a PSA that aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live and if we adults don’t listen they will bite back…that is when they finally get teeth!
I am willing to pay the price because I prefer the cuteness over a little pain or spit up. I mean seriously how precious are those pictures of the under ones in their Halloween costumes?

Jimmy Kimmel’s Halloween trick on kids is a real treat!
November 3rd, 2012 under Halloween, Jimmy Kimmel. [ Comments: none ]

Last year Jimmy Kimmel Live offered a challenge to his viewers who had young kids to tell them that they ate all of their children’s Halloween candy as they captured it on video and it was a huge huge huge success. Well if you have a hit, you might as well do it again and that the show did. Last night on the ABC late night show they aired a compilation video of several parents who pulled the mean trick on their kids this year and it turned on to be a bigger treat than last year. Some of the kids had the reaction that I would have and others will shock you. Let’s just say some parents are whole lot luckier than others. We should all be so lucky to have little ones like the toddlers at the end of the video, but sadly they are more like the majority. I know my demon spawn will be like some of the biggest terrors that you see on the video.
To see all the raw videos that were submitted on YouTube, you can watch it here.

The Halloween costumes your kids don’t want to wear!
November 1st, 2012 under David Letterman, Halloween. [ Comments: none ]

Yesterday David Letterman had some kids stop by The Late Show set to go Trick or Treating and they definitely had on some interesting costumes that you have never seen before and never will again. Kids will go as almost anything on Halloween, but I am not sure how many of them are lining to dress up like what the children wore on the CBS late night show. Now even though they wouldn’t wear those disguises, I would totally dress my kids up as some them!
Which was your favorite? I loved the one with the two little girls towards the end!
