Home & Family is all talked out
March 23rd, 2021 under Cameron Mathison, Hallmark. [ Comments: none ]

Hallmark Channel, the channel of happy movies, is giving us a sad story today. That is because they announced that this is the last season for their daily talk show.

“The ninth and current season of ‘Home & Family’ will be the series’ last,” a spokesperson for the network said in a statement to Variety. “For nearly a decade, the show has anchored our daytime lineup, featuring countless hours of cooking, lifestyle, DIY, health, entertaining and decorating segments. We want to thank the heart and soul of the show, our incredibly talented cast and crew — led by co-hosts Debbie Matenopoulos and Cameron Mathison — for their creativity, hard work and dedication. Our audience can look forward to more of the topical segments they know and love when the show returns on Monday, April 5 with a new one-hour, three-day-a-week format. The program’s final episode airs Wednesday, August 4th.”

I think this is a huge mistake because it was a great way to promote their many, many, many movies. Plus, it was fun to watch because there was such great chemistry on the show. You can tell that everyone liked each other. Something that is rare these days in daytime.

Along with the chemistry, there were also some really interesting cooking and crafting segments. It was nice to have something different than the other morning shows to watch.

Christmas will be on the Hallmark Channel all year long
January 8th, 2021 under Hallmark. [ Comments: 1 ]

Even though Christmas was just two weeks ago, do you still need your fix? Guess what? Hallmark Channel is going to give it to you all year long. Every Friday night at 8p, they are going to air a holiday movie.

Whoever came up with this idea needs a big fat raise. This is brilliant. The smartest thing they ever did.

Let’s be honest; we all need a little Christmas in our lives throughout the year at different times. Now, we are going to get it every Friday night for free. It is the gift that keeps on giving 52 weeks a year!

As the song says, “We need a little Christmas,” and now we are getting it!

BTW How long do you think it will take them to have a channel that only plays holiday movies? I say it will happen by 2022.

Hallmark adds a Rose Nylund ornament to its Christmas Keepsake Collection
August 25th, 2020 under Betty White, Christmas Music, Hallmark. [ Comments: none ]

Hallmark

Christmas is coming early this year because Hallmark added a Christmas Keepsake Ornament we will want to hang on our trees. They are adding a talking Rose Nylund ornament to their collection. That’s right. She says five of her best lines from The Golden Girls. Before you ask, yes, they are about St. Olaf.

While it does not look exactly like Betty White (more like Barbara Billingsley), it is close enough for me to need to hang her from the pine tree. Although, she is such an angel, I might put her on top.

The ornament is available to pre-order for $19.99 and will start shipping out on October 5th. Don’t wait because it will be gone faster than a cheesecake in their kitchen.

Christmas is going to be different this year because of the coronavirus pandemic, but it will always be the same on the Hallmark channels. Since we all need something that is like comfort food these days, Hallmark is once again airing many of their holiday movies on the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries throughout July.

Starting at 5p on June 29th, Hallmark Movies and Mysteries will air three movies every weeknight until July 12th. Then on July 10th at 12n, Hallmark Channel takes over and begins its 17 days of Christmas until July 27th.

This is just what the doctor ordered, some holiday joy to get us through this difficult time. How can you say bah humbug after watching a Cristmas movie?

March 19th, 2020 under Hallmark. [ Comments: none ]

What does Americans need now? We need Christmas joy, so Hallmark Channel is giving it to us.

Since we have already binged everything we have wanted to watch on Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and whatever else there is, Hallmark is giving us a weekend of Christmas movies. You know, since wlle will all probably be in our homes until then.

Starting tomorrow at noon, they will be airing 29 movies during the We Need a Little Christmas marathon.

I know I complain about Christmas coming earlier and earlier every year, but I am OK with it coming in March this one time. Merry Christmas!
