When you get married, they say until death do you part. Well for Masao and Miyako Matsumoto, it looks like they don’t ever want to part. That is because the couple, who will be celebrating their 81st wedding anniversary in October, is now in the Guiness Book of World Records for being the world’s oldest living married couple
On July 25th, when they got the title, Masao was 108 years and 16 days old while his wife Miyako was an even 100 and 243 days old.
The Japanese couple was married in 1937 and they have 5 daughters, 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren with one more due later this month.
Even though they have been married for over 80 years, they still look very much in love. Who doesn’t want to have a love like theirs? I know I dream of it every night and still nothing.
I felt for unlucky chef Owen Hall whose attempt at breaking the world record for the world’s largest Welsh cake suffered a setback shortly before Prince Charles and Camilla visited Llangwm today #walesweek#princeofwalespic.twitter.com/abKdWIysO9
The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall were visiting Wales today, so chef Owen Hall thought he would make them a nice cake. Actually, he attempted to make the World’s Largest Welsh Cake for the Guniess Book of World Records and the Royals, but it did go as planned. As you can see with the video that People’sSimon Perry shared of part of the 77lbs. creation falling to the ground.
Even though it was a cakestrophe, the chef vowed to bake another one in the future. Hopefully, they will save a piece for Prince Charles when they try to break the record again.
On June 9th, 2,505 women showed up for the annual Strip and Dip event at the Meaghermore beach in Wicklow, Ireland. Together all of those remarkable women of all different shapes and sizes broke the Guiness Book World’s Records for Largest Skinny Dipping.
Why did they strip and dip? They did it to raise money for Aoibheann’s Pink Tie, an Irish children’s cancer charity. Together the women, who came from all over Ireland and 22 other countries, raised €160,000. Not only are those kids the winners, so is every one of those ladies who got to be as free and as anyone can be for a day.
Deirdre Featherstone, a breast cancer survivor, started this event 6 years ago. That first year only 80 women showed up. This month she had over 30 times that amount of women take off all of their clothes and go for a swim. Sorry guys, no men were allowed for the girls day, literally, out.
In case you were wondering, the last holder of the record only was in 2015 when 786 people went skinny dippig at South Beach in Perth, Australia.
Cannot wait to see how many women show up next year! If I had big enough balls I would do it. But as you can tell from this event women, do not have balls!
We have all seen Curling at the Winter Olympics, but we have not seen Fastest Time to Drink a Bottle of Ketchup at one. And we probably won’t. But we will see it being done for the Guinness Book of World Records. Who knew it is a thing, but it is.
Dinesh Shivnath Upadhyaya’s latest world record attempt is one that not that many people would ever think of doing, but when has that stopped him in that past? All he had to do was drink 95% of a 14oz glass bottle of ketchup. He did it 25:37 seconds.
I don’t get it. I would do it if her were hot sauce, but not ketchup. I don’t even want to imagine what that was like because it sounded so disgusting when he was done.

Jason Ritter stars in the very endearing, must watch Kevin (Probaly) Saves the World Tuesdays at 10p on ABC, and his character has to hug people to help save the world. Therefore, ABC declared today National Hug-a-Kevin Day. Where are Kevin Bacon and Kevin Spacey when you need him? And ladies, I am pretty Kevin Hart’s wife would not like you to hug him today. Too soon?
Anyways, to honor the day, yesterday on The View, Ritter attempted to break the Most Hugs in Minute. The record belongs to someone who hugged 79 people in :60 seconds. Is Ritter now in the Guinness Book of World Records? Yes he is! He hugged 86 people in the allotted time and some more afterwards. Proving that he is not probably, but he is the most huggable guy in the world.
BTW Am I the only one who sees his father, the late John Ritter, in him?
Finally, his equally huggable costar JoAnna Garcia helped him prep for the title over the weekend. To see their rehearsal that did not go that well, then click here!
