Whether you have been watching Glee since day one or you have never seen an episode (What is wrong with you that you missing the best new show in a really long time), Glee: The Music, Volume 1 is the must have CD! Not only will it become your latest must replay addiction, but it is also a great stocking stuffer. So stock up on it tomorrow when it comes out for you, your friends, your family and anyone else you need to give a present to this holiday season!
There is at least one song on it for everyone and let’s be honest there is more than one tune that anyone can enjoy. As soon as I got the CD, I put it in my stereo and I haven’t stopped listening to it. I think I am going to wear out Maybe This Time with Kristin Chenoweth on my CD before tomorrow. I know I am not the only who loves the music from Glee because since it debuted in May over 2 million people have downloaded at least one song from the hugely successful show and their first hit Don’t Stop Believin’ just went Gold with over 500,000 downloads. Extremely impressive!
So what Gleeified songs are on Glee: The Music, Volume 1
1. “Don’t Stop Believin’â€
2. “Can’t Fight This Feelingâ€
3. “Gold Diggerâ€
4. “Take a Bowâ€
5. “Bust Your Windowsâ€
6. “Taking Chancesâ€
7. “Aloneâ€
8. “Maybe This Timeâ€
9. “Somebody to Loveâ€
10. “Hate On Meâ€
11. “No Airâ€
12. “You Keep Me Hangin’ Onâ€
13. “Keep Holding Onâ€
14. “Bust a Moveâ€
15. “Sweet Carolineâ€
16. “Dancing with Myselfâ€
17. “Defying Gravityâ€
The last two songs are on next Wednesday’s (11/11) episode Wheels and it is another must not miss episode with some new people having well earned and sung solos!!!
Before Mark Salling was a one of the children of Glee, he was one of the Children of the Corn: The Gathering. Without the mohawk, you can barely recognize the 13 year old in that 1996 movie but the eyes and nose give him away.
So last night on Fox’s Glee Puck (Mark Salling) sang Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline and most of the time you never hear what the artist thought of getting the Glee treatment.
Well last night after the show Neil Diamond Tweeted, “Hey, so who’s this guy Puck singing “Sweet Caroline” so good,so good,so good on #Glee? Loved it!!” OMG how awesome is it that not only did he watch Glee, but he Tweeted how much he loved Puck singing it. Who knew Neil Diamond was so hip? I love him even more and I am sure Mark Salling’s mom loves him even more than I do.
Because before the show Mark Salling Tweeted, “Everyone watch glee tonight, I’ll be performing a song by my moms favorite artist and no I will not be taking off my shirt” and afterwards he took to Twitter to add, “hey guys, thanks for the love, im not really sure whats going on right now but my mom is stoked so that makes me happy.” I wonder if his mom and him know that Neil Diamond gave him the big thumbs up for singing the song? I am sure she will be beyond excited, maybe her son can get her autograph now or something more. After all we learned yesterday he is a good Jewish son. Seriously who saw that coming? Oy!!!
BTW I just had to post this because Glee is like the cutest show on TV and even off-camera things that happen to them is so awwwdorable!!!
Now I just have to deal with the fact they won’t get a new episode of Glee until November 11th.

Before Cory Monteith was singing and dancing on Glee, he gave us something to be GLEEful about in Bloody Mary. How nice was it to see the 23 year old naked in that 2006 horror movie!
Joss Whedon is going to Bust a Move over to Glee for one episode as a director!!! The brilliant man behind Buffy told Whedonesque:
Hey kids and parents of kids and super-old, like ancestor-old-but-not-dead-yet-type people, just poking my oversized head in to say that the rumors are true… unless something very odd happens in the next few months, I will have the privilege of shooting an episode of GLEE. Why GLEE? Because I love cops, serial killers and gritty urban drama (I haven’t seen the show yet). Why me? Because they’re struggling and can’t afford real directors. And to head off a few queries:
No, this doesn’t mean Dollhouse definitely won’t get a back nine. Our numbers mean that! But I kid. Okay, we’re not exactly saving all the good stuff for 14-22, but nobody’s closed the door. If D’House suddenly busts wide, huzzah, we’ll still bring it, and I’ll still go and direct an episode of Glee, because of my love of cops. These realities can co-exist. And possibly cross over, at least in fiction that I have wri – read. About.
What can we expect from a ‘Joss Whedon’ epsiode of Glee? An episode of Glee. God willin’ and the crik don’t rise, a good one. A television director’s job is, on some level, to be anonymous; to find the most compelling way to present a story without calling attention to himself. I had a wonderful time doing just that on The Office, and hope to again. A guest director can bring a huge amount to the party (we’ve had CRAZY talent on Dollhouse), but the party isn’t his. I just want to work with good people on a show that I like enough to have watched every episode several times. (I lied: I HAVE watched the show. And seriously, when do the cops show up?)
Whom will I kill? When will that go away? Is death really the only thing I’m known for? I’d hope not. You know how many people in the world actually die? ALL OF THEM. You know how many I’ve killed? Statistically, somewhat fewer. Can’t we focus on another element of my work? Having said that, probably Principal Figgins. (No! I kid! God.)
Anyway, I hope that clears things up. I’m going to do my best, and more importantly, I’m going to do my best not to gush like a fanboy for eight straight days on set. Don’t worry. I practiced with Bamber. I’m a pro.
Happy Monday. Especially for me. -j.
This is so a wet dream for all the Buffy and Glee fans like me and I can’t wait to see what he does. Since the fate of Dollhouse pretty much sounds decided, maybe Joss will pitch doing a show that is also a musical one. What he did with Once More With Feeling is one of the best hours ever on television if not the best!!!
