Omaha’s own songwriting troubadour Conor Oberst leads the latest incarnation of Bright Eyes in the group’s first-ever performance with an orchestra for their Hollywood Bowl debut on Saturday, September 29, at 7 p.m. The Los Angeles Philharmonic performs arrangements composed by Bright Eyes band member Nate Walcott, who also arranged the orchestral pieces on Bright Eyes’ latest release, Cassadaga. That show looks like it is going to be a lot of fun and something to different to do on a Saturday night, so even you don’t win tickets from me you should consider going because the prices are so reasonable and it as at The Hollywood Bowl!!!
Contest 2: Win a Feast of Love signed poster by Greg Kinnear and Morgan Freeman, the Feast of Love soundtrack and book! All you have to do is E-Mail me the answer at [email protected] to “What type of store does Greg Kinnear’s character owns in the movie?” by Friday, September 28th with your name and address.
Feast of Love will be in a theater near you on Friday, September 28th. From venerable Academy Award(r) winning director Robert Benton (KRAMER VS. KRAMER), comes a kaleidoscopic ode to life and love in all its funny, sad, sexy, crazy, heartbreaking and life sustaining facets: FEAST OF LOVE. In a coffee shop in a tight-knit Oregon community, local professor Harry Stevenson (Academy Award(r) winner Morgan Freeman) witnesses love and attraction whipping up mischief among the town’s residents. From the unlucky in love, die-hard romantic coffee shop owner Bradley (Academy Award(r) nominee Greg Kinnear) who has a serial habit of looking for love in all the wrong places, including with his current wife Kathryn (Selma Blair); to the edgy real estate agent Diana (RadhaMitchell) who is caught up in an affair with a married man (Billy Burke) with whom she shares an ineffable connection; to the beautiful young newcomer Chloe (Alexa Davalos) who defies fate in romancing the troubled Oscar (Toby Hemingway); to Harry himself, whose adoring wife (Jane Alexander) is looking to break through his wall of grief after the wrenching loss of a beloved . . . they all intertwine into one remarkable story in which no one can escape being bent, broken, befuddled, delighted and ultimately redeemed by love’s inescapable spell.
Contest 3: Win a T-Shirt and a poster from It’s Always Sunny in Philadephia! All you have to do is E-Mail me the answer at [email protected] to “What is the name of the bar that they own on the show?” by Friday, September 21st with your name and address.
The gang is back! FX’s original comedy series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia returns for its third season on Thursday, September 13th at 10pm e/p. The 15-episode season will run every Thursday at 10pm.
Sunny features Charlie (Charlie Day), Mac (Rob McElhenney), Dennis (Glenn Howerton), Sweet Dee (Kaitlin Olson) and Frank (Danny DeVito), five ne’er-do-wells who own and operate Paddy’s Pub in Philadelphia . Their constant scheming to get ahead by not-so-redeemable methods usually lands them in a world of hurt, yet they never seem to learn from their mistakes.
Rescue Me finishes it hottest season to date on FX tomorrow at 10p and I wonder what cliffhanger they are going to leave us with! Because for the last three seasons the show has sure not disappointed us with the last five minutes of the season. In fact it makes us feel just like we did when we were in school counting how many days until summer and Rescue Me is back.
BTW tune into the Emmys on Sunday to see if Denis Leary wins an Emmy for his role as Tommy Gavin.
24 hours after I say good-bye to Rescue Me, I will need a drink and I will get one or two with the third season premiere of It Is Always Sunny In Philadelphia on FX at 10p on Thursday! I have seen the first four episodes (2 of which air on Thursday) and all I will say is that this show hasn't changed in the least bit and that is a good thing.
BTW unlike Rescue Me, don't expect to see this show at the Emmys…it is too smart for the Emmy voters!!!
Burn Notice ends its first season on Thursday on USA at 10p. They say this show was a hit (no pun) and that would be to put it mildly! The chemistry between the actors and the writing of the show helped USA launch a new night of television…Thursdays!!! The show will be back for second season, no one was surprised by that news.
The first new show of the Fall Season premieres on Friday at 9p on Fox and I say let's get on the bus and head to Nashville to watch this show!
This high-drama docu-soap set in "the biggest small town in America” focuses on the dreamers and dream-makers in the music industry, as well as those trying to make their mark on Nashville's big business and high society premieres Friday, Sept. 14 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
Pictured L-R: Matt Jenkins, Lindsey Hager, Jeff Allen, Clint Moseley, Chuck Wicks, Rachel Bradshaw, Mika Combs, Jamey Johnson and Sarah Gunsolus.
I just started watching the premiere episode and I am so hooked and I am sure you will be too!!!
Monk and Psych finish up their season on Friday on USA at 9 and 10p respectively. I don't know about you, but I want them both to investigate why their seasons fly by while we wait for then to come back next season.
BTW we will find out on Sunday if Tony Shaloub will get another Emmy to add to his mantle on Sunday! Good luck Tony.
What can you say about this season of 4400? Except does it really have to end. This season was a season of twists and turns and you never knew what was going to happen next? I can't wait to see how they end this season because they are another show that loves end cliffhangers.
The Dead Zone also finishes it season on Sunday and 10p and it was the season that was lucky to be on! Now I have to hope that USA will have a little faith in the show that cut its cast and moved to a new location and bring it back for another season. This show gets better every season especially this one where it brought back some old favorites like Sean Patrick Flanery and Jennifer Finnegan. Hopefully Johnny Smith will be able to see the future with his Dead Zone and find a way to bring this show back again!!!
So after all of that you would think my DVR would get a a break…no such luck the fall season is coming back full force in the next few weeks and a lot of good shows will be on Fox, CBS and NBC!!!

OMG! That is so freaking funny, my favorite part of that video was Rhea Perlman! They need to give her her own show on the network because she is hysterical!!!
BTW I so can’t wait for It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia to come back on FX next month! It is one of the wrongest shows on TV as you can see from that clip!!!
