It has been months since we had an all new episode of Lucifer, but he is finally back on Fox tonight at 9p.
It has been two weeks since the last episode took place and no one has seen or heard from Lucifer (Tom Ellis) since he disappeared. Life has moved on for everyone in Los Angeles and he made a big change in his life too. When he finally returns, he has a big announcement. He got married and her name is Candy. No one is sweet on the Las Vegas showgirl except for Lucifer, so that will make things interesting for everyone. Especially, Chloe (Lauren German) who finally realizes she has feelings for him.
When Lucifer comes back she tries to shut him out of her latest investigation, but Candy comes in helpful. Lucifer and Chloe go to marriage counseling to investigate their latest murder case and she winds up revealing the feelings she has for him, but is he smart enough to figure it out?
Then there is his family especially his mother (Tricia Helfer) who don’t like their new in-law. Charlotte doesn’t have time for that because she has come up with a way to get them back up to Heaven. But that will play out more next week.
I watch a lot of television shows and Lucifer is one that I have to watch live. I hate waiting for new episodes because I adore it so much. It is witty, funny and one of the rare procedurals that keeps you guessing until the end of each episode. Plus, every now and again we get to hear Ellis sing. Tonight, he croons out a sexy version of Bangles’ Eternal Flame. Ladies, it will have you swooning as he serenades us through our television screens. Kind of like something the real Lucifer would do.

Do you love Shark Tank, but wish they only did toys? That is what The Toy Box on ABC at 8p tonight is all about, but with a twist!
Each week, 5 inventors pitch their toys to 3 judges to see if they will advance to the next round. Those judges are Dylan Candy’s creator Dylan Lauren, toy critic Jim Silver and Pixar Animation Studios’ creative director of Consumer Products, Jen Yan. After looking at their inventions, they decide if they should move on the toy box or go home to play with their toy.
What is the toy box? The business people who have moved on, face their toughest critics. Four judges, who are children, and they know what makes a toy work and what doesn’t. They are Aalyrah Caldwell, Noah Ritter, Sophia Grace Brownlee and Toby Grey. They might be in school, but they mean business. They ask the masterminds questions and then play with the toys before they deliberate who moves on.
Each episode, one person advances to the final round. The winner of that round gets their product produced by Mattel Toys. Something that they have given up their homes and children’s education to do. It is crazy how far these people have gone to make their dream a reality.
Toys like a soccer ball that opens up into other balls, a doll that talks in 3 languages, a ballerina doll that you can pose like one, 2 different takes on pinatas and many more toys that make you feel like a child again. On that note, this fast paced competition show is hosted by Modern Family’s Eric Stonesteet who is forever a child.

Do you love court shows and wish you could be on the jury? With You the Jury that debuts on Fox tonight at 9p you get to do just that.
Each week a a plaintiff pleads their case and their lawyers will question them and the person they are suing. After both sides have presented their cases and all their evidence has been heard, it is time for closing arguments. Unlike a real trial, the people involved in the case give them. Then it is up for you to decide who wins and who loses.
It sounds like a great idea on paper, but the modern day set makes it all seem cold. It feels more like Who Want to Be A Millionaire than You The Jury. That and Judge Jeanine Pirro is awful as the host because she is stiffer than a gavel. Plus, her voice is like nails on a chalkboard.
My verdict is guilty as charged. It’s a good idea turned bad.

While I have been enjoying Leighton Meester on Making History, I am one of the just over 1 million people that has been watching it. Yet even though the sitcom is one of the lowest rated programs on broadcast TV, Fox is still airing it.
But that might be changing because the show’s star was arrested today. According to TMZ, Adam Pally was arrested in NYC on suspicion of smoking marijuana from an e-cig and possessing a small bag of cocaine. Why do I think his arrest will cause the show to be cancelled? If history repeats itself (no pun intende), then Fox will try to separate themselves from Pally because of his arrest. In the past they have not been fans of their stars getting in trouble with the law. But they don’t even have to justify the cancellation because the ratings for this show are beyond a disaster. Barely over 1.5 million people watched the show on Sunday in the overnight ratings and those are some very painful numbers for a show on the Big 4.
Talking about Pally, his other show The Mindy Project was picked up for a 6th and final season over at Hulu today.
Back to time traveling shows, sad news over at ABC. Starting this Sunday, Time After Time has been replaced by Match Game. While the ratings for the Kevin Williamson drama have not been good, they have been doing about twice that of Making History. I was loving the show because I was a fan of the movie, so I am upset that they pulled it from the lineup indefinitely. Why can’t they get rid of American Crime that has been doing worse than Time After Time? Oh yeah, it gets ABC award nominations, and they barely get any.
Finally some good news, Powerless will be back with an all new episode on NBC tomorrow at 8:30p. It had been replaced by Trial & Error repeats for the last two weeks, so I was getting nervous that it was never coming. Thankfully tomorrow, it will be flying back onto our TV screens.
If you have not seen DC’s first sitcom, then you are missing out on a show that is truly Super, man!

This season has been full of time travel shows, but Making History is the only comedy version of them. What Fox does with Making History tonight at 8:30p will change your perception of the season’s theme.
Dan (Adam Pally) is a Computer Science Professor at a college and he has secret place where he goes to on the weekends. That place is Boston in the year 1775. What? He has a time machine aka huge red duffle bag that transports back to Colonial America so he can see his girlfriend. Deborah Revere (Leighton Meester) is Paul’s daughter and she is more revolutionary than he father.
Dan has been traveling back to a time before the Revolutionary War, and it is about to get started. Only problem is Deborah’s father was out of town and didn’t warn them, “The British are coming.” Thus, our history has been changed.
He does the only thing he can do, he goes to Chris (Yassir Lester) the college’s History Professor and brings him back to the 1775 with him. Well, after a lot of convincing because who would believe him?
Once they get there, they start the War and Chris asks to stay while Deborah chooses to go with Dan to the future aka our time. When they find out something shocking about Chris, they go back to make things right.
Will they make everything right again? Of course they do, because otherwise they would be trapped going back to that time over and over until they do. And it is fun to see them go back to Chicago and hang out with Al Capone in the coming weeks.
Pally plays Dan as such a likeable Frat boy, you can’t help but to adore him. Meester gives Deborah such a naive charm, you will forget she ever did that show. Thus, you will XOXO her! Lester is perfect as their smart uptight friend who keeps them in line because if he doesn’t our time line goes to poop.
Making History is about making you happy and who doesn’t need that before they start their work week?

Even though Fox was late to the game on picking up the second half of Lucifer’s second season, and they are wasting no time by giving the devilishly good show a 22-episode third season. The network announced today that it will join Empire, The Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers on their 2017 Fall lineup and I can’t wait for new episodes.
Granted those will come with the second half of the second season starting on May 1st. According to the press release, here is what we can expect, “Lucifer (Tom Ellis) has gone off the grid and cut off all contact from his family and the police department, following Chloe’s (Lauren German) near-death. But the murder of an up-and-coming guitarist causes him to resurface – with a new mystery woman. Meanwhile, Lucifer’s mom (Tricia Helfer) realizes she may have found a way to finally get them back to Heaven.” Who is that mystery woman? We will have to wait two and a half long months to find out. It might feel like Hell, but Heaven is a place on Earth when Lucifer is on!
That sounded better in my head. When it comes to Lucifer, it always sounds like a good idea to tune in to this Monday night drama that gets more enticing with each new episode. This is one of the few shows, I insist on watching live and not waiting to watch it on my DVR. It is that addictive. Kind of like the Devil has a hold on me.
