Hours after Helen Hunt told Ellen DeGeneres that she and Paul Reiser have been meetings in her kitchen a lot recently about doing a Mad About You revival, Entertainment Weekly reports that they closed a deal with Sony to bring back the show. Now it is up to the studio to sell the show to a network and Mad About You will join Will & Grace and Roseanne on our TVs again.
Since those two shows have been successful, it seems like a no-brainer for NBC to be the one that picks it up since they aired it the first time. At this rate, NBC will only air revivals of their old sitcoms on Thursdays. I would not be surprised if they are talking to the casts of Wing, Family Ties and Night Court to bring those comedies back. I am rooting most for the last one. When it comes to Mad About You returning to the airwaves, I am lukewarm. I watched it, but it is nothing that makes me say it needs to come back. Do you think it does?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GscrgL3dXjU Last week, the zipper on Jenna Fischer’s dress broke and she had to go on Jimmy Kimmel Live wearing just a towel for a shirt. Turns out it was not the first time she wore a towel on a daytime talk show. She also did it on Ellen DeGeneres’ show.
Only thing is, she did not keep her towel on. Seems her underwear also had some issues too, if you know what I mean? Who knew you could wear fewer clothes before the sun goes down on TV than after the sun sets?
I guess you can say Fischer is willing to do anything for her boss Ellen. DeGeneres produces Splitting Up Together that airs Tuesdays on ABC at 9:30p.
Ever since it was announced that Sarah Drew and Jessica Capshaw were fired from Grey’s Anatomy, fans have blamed Ellen Pompeo’s salary increase for their firing. Meredith Grey denied that on Twitter and today she denies it again on Ellen.
She told Ellen DeGeneres, “I’m not involved in these kind of decisions. However, there’s a few problems that you encounter for doing a show for 14 seasons. One of them is the writers have a really hard time creatively, you know thinking up new stories for all of these characters.” While that is true, a much bigger problem for an ageing show is cost. And I think that played a bigger role in the elimination of those roles than the writers lack of creativity.
It seems like the cast of ER was able to leave on their own accord and they weren’t fired like the actors seem to be on this show. That show went on for 15 years and launched several careers.
Back to Pompeo, she then said to DeGeneres, “It is important to us to not pit women against each other.” I don’t think they are pitting her against Drew and Capshaw, they are just pitting her paycheck to theirs.
One of the things I respect about sitcom actors over drama ones, is the casts work together to make sure all the leads are paid equally. Yes, she has been on the show longer than Capshaw and Drew, but she has been on the same amount of time as the other originals and I am sure they are not making nearly as much as she is. Why didn’t she try to get them a break too like the TBBT cast did for two of their co-stars. Just saying.
And why hasn’t NBC given ER a revival? What is George Clooney doing these days anyways?
Oliver Hudson is a very manly man, and he is man enough to admit that he is smooth like a little boy down there.
The actor told Ellen DeGeneres on her show today that he loves his wife so much that he got a Brazilian for her. He explained that he did it because he wanted to know what she goes through for him.
The host wanted to know how was it and he said it hurt a lot. Did he do it again? 5 times and counting! Wait, what? He kind of likes it because “it’s very clean, and you know, there’s some nice things that happen, when you, are fully, there’s no hair.”
While most married people get couple massages, they couple waxings. Which has helped them have a special bond because of it. You know what they say, “A couple that waxes together, stays together.”
Tiffany Haddish is the second guest on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show today and the first one was Oprah Winfrey. Well Haddish is a big fan of Lady O, but sadly she had left as soon as her segment was done. Or so she thought.
As Haddish was praising the woman we all love, she revealed that she sent a few letters to her idol, but never got a reply. Therefore, Ellen wanted to know why Oprah never replied. At that moment Haddish lost it and couldn’t stop crying as she met the Queen of Daytime. But then again who wouldn’t become a slobbering mess if they met Oprah like that.
It is nice to see Ellen use her power for good and not to scare the crap out of someone like she normally does. Especially to someone who is as talented as Haddish, I have loved her since The Carmichael Show. She had us cracking up in every scene she was in on that show. I miss that show, but at least the cast is having successful careers now that it won’t be back for another season.
