Meet About A Boy’s dad, Chicago Fire is explosive, True Tori halts production |
April 29th, 2014 under Aaron/Candy/Tori Spelling, Dick Wolf, NBC. [ Comments: 1 ]

Tonight at 9pm on NBC’s About a Boy we finally meet Marcus’ (Benjamin Stockham) dad and he’s played by Tony Hale. Hugh Womple (Hale), who has been in Antarctica studying penguins, and he just flew in to see his son for a few days. Just because he is there to see him, doesn’t mean he really wants to spend time with him. So now Will (David Walton) will do everything in his power to get those two closer and Fiona (Minnie Driver) and Hugh further apart.
Hale is the perfect actor to fill out that family because he is just quirky enough to be patriarch of it. His presence on the show explains even more why Marcus is the way that he is. Awwwdorable in his own special way!
Then at 10p on NBC, Chicago Fire is rocked by a massive explosion. Lt. Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Dawson (Monica Raymund) volunteered for a charity run at Chicago Medical and something so easy becomes the complete opposite in a second. Dawson goes in the hospital leaving Casey alone outside. While Casey is walking to two little girls, a bomb goes off throwing him into a car, and killing and injuring several people. Now everyone is on a full alert trying to save as many as they can. Which is made a lot more difficult because part of the hospital is missing due to the bomb.
Missing in the rubble is Dawson and her co-workers will do everything they can to find her. Will they find her alive? She isn’t the only person who is missing or injured from their station, someone is working through their injuries and they might become one of that fatalities if they don’t seek some help ASAP.
Along with dealing with the injured, Boden (Eamonn Walker) realizes that there might be another bomb in the hospital and they have to find it. So Cruz (Joe Minoso) and Otis (Yuri Sardarov) go in search of it and eventually they find the explosives. Will they be able to diffuse it before it goes off?
For most of this episode, it is focused on Fire and not PD. Because of that it is really intense as they do a search and rescue. I found myself glued to the television from the beginning to the end. It reminded me when ER was at its best because it is that well done.
So well done I think that NBC made a mistake by doing Chicago PD instead of Chicago Medical. I so want that spinoff instead after this episode.
Now having said that, tonight’s storyline concludes tomorrow on Chicago PD at 10p on NBC.
Also at 10p, but over on Lifetime is True Tori and it is a very emotional and revealing episode. So revealing that Dean McDermott says something that halts production on the show while the network decides if they can continue on with him and the show. What does he say that is so shocking? You just have to tune in to find out.
Let’s just Tori Spelling and him are leaving nothing out about their private lives on this show and it really is their true story. So have the tissues ready because there are a lot of real moments on this episode that will have you crying along with them.

Tonight at 9p on NBC’s Law & Order: SVU, William Lewis’ (Pablo Schrieber) story concludes.
William collapses in his jail cell, is sent to the hospital, declared dead and then some how comes back to life. When he awakes, he kills the cop guarding him, rapes a nurse and escapes. He goes to a female doctor’s house, kills her, rapes her older daughter and kidnaps her 12 year old daughter. William then calls Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) telling her that he will set her free if she tells the truth. Reluctantly, she agrees to do it but William doesn’t keep his word. He wants to meet with Olivia face-to-face and she sneaks out of the station to do so. Now it is time for their final confrontation. How will it end? You don’t want miss how, so tune in for the last page of an amazing suspenseful book of television.
In a way, I am sad that this story is coming to an end because both Hargitay and Schrieber have been giving Emmy worthy performances in episode that that they have worked together in for the show.

Grimm’s future isn’t grim and neither are Chicago Fire and Chicago PD’s |
March 19th, 2014 under Dick Wolf, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

NBC announced today that they picked up Grimm, Chicago Fire and Chicago PD for next season. Buried under the headline was that Parks & Recreation will also be back in the fall.
Just think a few years ago, Dick Wolf was left with just one show on NBC and now he is back to having 3. Although, I have to say, I am not sure why they renewed PD because I couldn’t get through an episode. And because of that I really hope they stop doing the crossover episodes every week between the Chicago shows. I only watch Fire and don’t want to watch PD, so stop trying to force me to.

Law & Order: SVU proves rape isn’t funny while Legit proves sex addicts are! |
February 26th, 2014 under Dick Wolf, FX, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 9p, Law & Order: SVU takes on Daniel Tosh’s unfunny joke about rape and made a whole episode about it. Jonathan Silverman plays a comic, who tours a colleges, and tells the audiences that rape isn’t funny but gang rape is. When a female student speaks up against his jokes, he says wouldn’t it be funny if she got gang raped. So after she leaves the show, two of the male students try to rape her. Luckily she gets away, and she runs to the Special Victims Unit to bring down the comedian for inciting the crime. When the team goes to his comedy show at the same college on the second night, another female in the audience claims that the comedian raped her after the night beforehand’s show. Now they have to prove if he is living his act or her claim is a bad joke as bad as his.
What will they find out about him as they look into his past? You will just have to tune in and see if they get their guy.
Tonight at 10p Legit makes its debut on FXX and you don’t want to miss the show’s second season premiere. Jim Jefferies tries to cut down on his porn habit, but he can’t. Then while he is on Dr Drew’s radio a show, a caller talks about a bad lover she had, and it turns out to be one of Jim’s exes. Confronted with his problems, he decides to go to Sex Addicts Anonymous and guess who is there? Her! Is this enough to cure him? All I will say is that someone does get lucky by the end of the sick and twisted yet very funny episode.
And the episodes only get better as the season go one, let’s just say in one of them they go their high school reunion. And at that reunion one of them will be declared dead…

It’s Benson vs her worst case on SVU and Stevie Nicks is on AHS! |
January 8th, 2014 under American Horror Story, Dick Wolf, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 9p on NBC’s Law & Order: SVU Detective Benson (Mariska Hargitay) comes face to face again with William Lewis (Pablo Schreiber) in court and its like reliving her horrible nightmare when he kidnapped and tortured her all over again.
As much prep as they can give Liv, they still can’t prepare her for what she is about to go to. At first it seems like things will be semi-tame because Lewis has a lawyer; but when he fires her and decides to argue the case for himself things will be so much worse for everyone. He will cross-examine everyone to the point where they are about to crack. And as bad as it is for all of them, it will be so much worse when he confronts Benson on the stand.
The interaction between Hargitay and Lewis is so intense that you can feel it through the TV screens. If these two actors don’t get Emmy nominations for the work they have done together this season, then there is really something wrong with the academy. They take acting to a whole other level when they work together that you can’t help but be impacted by their portrayals of the situations given to them.
Now when it comes to will Lewis finally be convicted for one of the crimes that he has committed, you will just have to tune into this very powerful episode to find out.
Then at 10p switch the dials over to FX to watch Stevie Nicks make her debut on American Horror Story: Coven.
If you thought the last episode of AHS was crazy, it is tame compared to tonight’s deadly episode.
The episode picks up with Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett) and Fiona Goode (Jessica Lange) having tea and talking about what went down at her shop and having a truce between to the covens. Shortly after being welcomed in, Laveau goes to sleep and wakes up to her master, Papa (Lance Redderick), wanting to collect what she owes him. That item due is an innocent soul, so she steals a newborn baby from the hospital.
Meanwhile Fiona is prepping for the new Supreme and since she thinks it is Misty Day (Lily Rabe) she brings her a present. That gift is a fellow witch and Day’s idol, Stevie Nicks. The singer performs for her, gives her tips and a shawl that she has toured the world with. The last thing is something that she will hold very close to her.
While most people think that Day is the next Supreme, Madison Montgomery (Emma Roberts) and Nan (Jamie Brewer) both think that they are the next in line for the job. By the end of the night at least one of the candidates will be dead.
Think you know? You don’t, so tune in to watch this shocking episode that sets things up for the season finale.
