Dermott Mulroney and Chicago Fire are on a break

Dermot Mulroney joined Chicago Fire last season as the new Battalion Chief of Firehouse 51, and the actor is taking a break after this season’s 14th episode.

According to Deadline, he will be replaced by Rob Morgan. Morgan will play Battalion Chief Hopkins, who has a long, haunted past in overseeing several Chicago firehouses and is quick to assert authority over his colleagues.

He will first appear in episode 16 until the season finale.

It is unclear why Mulroney is leaving, but I am assuming it is because he will be filming season 2 of The Hunting Wives for Netflix, which is currently in production.

And if I were him, I would do the latter because Chicago Fire has done nothing with his role, and he is so much better than what they have given him.

Will we see Dom Pascal again? We will probably find out over the summer.

Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD unite again in March

On March 4th, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD will come together once again to save Chicago in a special one-night, three-hour event on NBC.

Firehouse 51 is called to an airfield when a passenger jet suddenly goes silent mid-air, triggering a high-stakes emergency. Their discovery cracks open a bigger and deadlier mystery — one with consequences that could ripple far beyond the runway and put countless lives in jeopardy.

I don’t know what that means, but I know I can’t wait to find out.

Does this teaser make you want to watch CIA?
December 15th, 2025 under Dick Wolf. [ Comments: none ]

CBS’s FBI is getting its fourth spinoff, and this one will focus on the CIA.

The Dick Wolf procedural has had a rough start since its straight-to-series. Its backdoor pilot was cancelled, and several actors and executive producers left the show.

Having said all of that, the show is going forward with Tom Ellis and Nick Gehlfuss as the lead agents. Today, CBS released the first look at the series.

When by-the-book FBI Special Agent Bill Goodman (Gehlfuss) is loaned out to a clandestine CIA/FBI task force, he finds himself teamed up with secretive and roguish CIA case officer Colin Glass (Ellis). Together they will work covert operations in New York, uncovering international plots, terrorist cells, and geopolitical secrets. On CIA, Bill will learn the rules of this murky world on the fly as Colin leads him deeper into spy games where only one thing is clear — their work keeps America safe, even if no one will ever know what they did in the shadows. Necar Zadegan and Natalee Linez also star.

CIA premieres on February 28th. Are you going to watch?

FBI spinoff CIA hits another snag
November 6th, 2025 under Dick Wolf. [ Comments: none ]

CBS believed in the FBI spinoff CIA that they picked it up, even though the backdoor pilot was not ready in time to air last season.

Then, in July, Executive Producer David Hudgins stepped down, and Law & Order: SVU EP Warren Leight took over for him.

Today, Variety is reporting that Leight stepped down, and FBI showrunner Mike Weiss is expected to replace him.

Due to the last minute change, filming is expected to go on hiatus. However, the trade says that the drama is still expected next year.

Leight’s departure is not the only one who has left CIA this month; actress Michael Michele and producer Eriq La Salle also quit the show.

At what point do you say, “Fuck it?” I am thinking they are at that point because the signs are all there. But then again, High Potential and Grey’s Anatomy had a lot of turnover before their debuts, and look at them now.

CIA stars Tom Ellis and Nick Gehlfuss as “two unlikely partners – a fast-talking, rule-breaking loose cannon CIA case officer (Ellis), and a by-the-book, seasoned and smart FBI agent (Gehlfuss) who believes in the rule of law.”
